How to change your appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds

0

Monster Hunter Wilds not only lets you hunt huge monsters, but also craft incredible armour sets themed around the materials you gather from them. That means that while the functionality of your gear should always come first, aesthetics do matter in Monster Hunter.

Whether you want to freshen up the physical appearance or hairstyle of your character or change the visual appearance of your outfit or your Palico’s outfit, there is a relatively hidden menu that allows you to do just that.

Here’s where you need to go to customize your look!

How to change your Hunter’s physical appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds

To change your Hunter’s physical appearance, first visit your tent in one of the base camps or major settlements around the world. This is where Alma and Nata usually hang out between hunts.

Inside your tent, as well as options to grill a meal or equip a new weapon, the sixth option in the menu will re-open the character creation menu to let you make some changes. You can also make similar changes to your Palico from this menu.

From here you can change the colour and style of your character’s hair, their casual clothes and their makeup, as well as their voice pitch and walking style.

However, you can’t alter the facial structure of your character or whether they’re male or female.

Underneath the physical appearance menu, there’s a second prompt which will allow you to change the visual appearance of your gear and equip any cosmetic items you may have received as add-ons based on the edition of the game you own.

Slightly weirdly, you can only visually unequip an item, change its colour or swap it for a cosmetic variant – you can’t swap the visual appearance of an armour piece for another one you also own.

By that same token, the third option underneath that in the drop-down will let you alter your Palico’s outfit, allowing you to either visually unequip pieces you don’t like the look of or swap them out for other cosmetic pieces.
