Oops! Monster Hunter Wilds credits attributed a performance to the wrong voice actor, so expect a change to the credits in the next major update landing next month

Monster Hunter Wilds is getting another important change in the upcoming title update. It may not be a new monster, nor a new difficulty option, but nonetheless it’s something that needs doing! It turns out, one of the characters was credited incorrectly in the credits, which is soon to be fixed.

That character was Roqul from Azuz! He’s the guy you save from a Rompopolo in your first hour or so in the Oilwell Basin, and later offers you items from the Firespring festival. He’s voiced by the wonderful Ben Balmaceda, who has previously played the roles of Travis in Unicorn Overlord, Rikiel in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean (fantastic job by the way), Moze in Honkai Star Rail, Paul Carson in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and loads more.

In case you were wondering, the voice actor mistakenly credited was Mark Whitten. Which, y’know, no harm no foul on his part at all. Hopefully, with the change to the game, information on sites like IMDB will get fixed also, as it still currently lists Whitten as Roquel’s English voice and is one of the biggest movie, TV, and game information hubs on the internet.

Ben Balmaceda, for his part, has been very kind about the whole affair on social media. Getting credited for your work is important y’know, especially given the stellar voice performance from the English cast of Wilds as a whole. In fact, I’ll check in on Roqul in game right now to see if he’s doing alright, and if he has any rare ore for me. I’m sure he does.
