Love and Deepspace Abyssal Chaos: How to get all of Zayne’s endings in the Find Tobias commission
The first Abyssal Chaos commission in Love and Deepspace, titled Find Tobias, isn’t quite as in-depth as its sequel Final Farewell, but all of the key elements are already present and correct. Choose your companion – either one you’ve unlocked or a time-limited trial Myth character – and let the game choose his best cards from your collection to temporarily boost to Level 80 Awakened for the duration of the commission. Next step: profit (in the form of plenty of in-game rewards, anyway).
I’m admittedly biased as a Zayne main, but I maintain he’s always a great character to take on these commissions. As a doctor he’s usually able to come up with a good in-story reason for accompanying you which is helpful for getting information from NPCs; and depending on which kit of his you’re using, he can potentially help with healing you through some of the tougher combat nodes as well.
There are four endings to uncover in Find Tobias with Zayne as your companion, so to make sure you see all of them, read on for details of every Abyssal Chaos Find Tobias Zayne ending, and the exact steps you need to follow to unlock them.
LaDS Abyssal Chaos Find Tobias: All Zayne Endings
There are four possible endings to the Find Tobias commission with Zayne, and while the routes to getting some of them aren’t unique, we’ve tested these answer combinations and can confirm that they’ll get you where you want to go. If you want to 100% the commission with Zayne, be sure to maximise the amount of different outcomes you get to experience along the way by choosing different dialogue options every time there’s a free choice!
Below are the right choices to make for each of Zayne’s endings in Find Tobias.
Ending 1: So Close
Answers by scene:
- Find Tobias I: (either choice)
- Find Tobias: Let’s go!
So Close is technically the “failure” ending of Zayne’s route in the Find Tobias commission, and the game will clearly flag it as such when you reach the deciding choice in the second story node. However, it’s well worth seeing if you’re a Zayne fan and/or a completionist looking to secure all outcomes and endings – just note that you’ll have to play through Find Tobias III to actually see the ending, even though you’re locked in after making your choice.
Ending 2: Closer to the Truth
Answers by scene:
- Find Tobias I: (either choice)
- Find Tobias II: Polish the backstory.
- Find Tobias III: (either choice)
- Find Tobias IV: (either choice)
- Find Tobias V: You knew he had a transplant?
- Find Tobias VI: One step closer to the truth.
Closer to the Truth is the first of two standard “good” endings to Find Tobias, although Zayne (like all the other companions) gets a unique spin on it for his route. To secure this ending, the key decision happens in the fifth story node, where you must pick the correct dialogue choice to proceed along this ending route.
Ending 3: Questions Lingered Like Mist
Answers by scene:
- Find Tobias I: (either choice)
- Find Tobias II: Polish the backstory.
- Find Tobias III: (either choice)
- Find Tobias IV: (either choice)
- Find Tobias V: What did you give him? (or) We mean no harm.
- Find Tobias VI: Questions lingered like mist.
Questions Lingered Like Mist is the second of the two standard “good” endings to Find Tobias, although Zayne (like all the other companions) gets a unique spin on it for his route. To secure this ending, the key decision happens in the fifth story node, where you must avoid the wrong dialogue choice to proceed along this ending route.
Ending 4: The Rose and the Moon
Answers by scene:

- Find Tobias II: Polish the backstory.
- Find Tobias III: Might as well.
- Find Tobias IV: (either choice)
- Find Tobias V: (any choice)
- Find Tobias VI: The Rose and the Moon
The Rose and the Moon is the unique ending exclusive to Zayne’s route in the Find Tobias commission, and can only be selected if you made the right decision in order to obtain his special mission item during the third story node. However, after that point you can make any choices you like, so this is a good opportunity to check out some alternate dialogue choices if you haven’t already.
