Love and Deepspace Abyssal Chaos: How to get all of Rafayel’s endings in the Find Tobias commission
In Love and Deepspace’s Abyssal Chaos endgame roguelike mode, you get to choose a companion to have his best cards temporarily boosted to Level 80 Awakened for the duration of the run. With one exception, you can have any companion join you for either deduction, and the game positively encourages you to try to see absolutely everything. Hence, whether you’re a Rafayel main or just a completionist, sooner or later you’ll probably want to tackle the Find Tobias commission with his assistance.
If you’ve played the second commission, Final Farewell, with Rafayel, you’ll know that his routes through the endgame dungeons can be tricky to predict due to a large number of choices that can lock you out of certain endings. In Find Tobias, the problem is almost the opposite: you actually don’t get to make very many decisions at all until the second half of the deduction, at which point you definitely don’t want to risk losing your progress by dead-ending on an outcome you’ve already seen.
To that end, read on for every Abyssal Chaos Find Tobias Rafayel ending, and the exact steps you need to follow to unlock them.
LaDS Abyssal Chaos Find Tobias: All Rafayel Endings
There are four possible endings to the Find Tobias commission with Rafayel, and while the routes to getting some of them aren’t unique, we’ve tested these answer combinations and can confirm that they’ll get you where you want to go. If you want to 100% the commission with Rafayel, be sure to maximise the amount of different outcomes you get to experience along the way by choosing different dialogue options every time there’s a free choice!
Below are the right choices to make for each of Rafayel’s endings in Find Tobias.
Ending 1: All For Nothing
Answers by scene:

- Find Tobias IV: The tall, thin one.
- Find Tobias V: (no decision due to previous choices)
- Find Tobias VI: All For Nothing
All For Nothing is technically the “failure” ending of Rafayel’s route in the Find Tobias commission, and the game will clearly flag it as such when you reach the deciding choice in the fourth story node. However, it’s well worth seeing if you’re a completionist looking to secure all outcomes and endings.
Ending 2: Closer to the Truth

- Find Tobias VI: One Step Closer To The Truth
Closer to the Truth is the first of two standard “good” endings to Find Tobias, although Rafayel (like all the other companions) gets a unique spin on it for his route. To secure this ending, the key decision happens in the fifth story node, where you must pick the correct dialogue choice to proceed along this ending route.
Ending 3: Questions Lingered Like Mist

Questions Lingered Like Mist is the second of the two standard “good” endings to Find Tobias, although Rafayel (like all the other companions) gets a unique spin on it for his route. To secure this ending, the key decision happens in the fifth story node, where you must make the correct dialogue choice to proceed along this ending route.
Ending 4: Hope Against Hope
Answers by scene:

- Find Tobias IV: The short, stout one.

- Find Tobias VI: Hope Against Hope
Hope Against Hope is the unique ending exclusive to Rafayel’s route in the Find Tobias commission, and can only be selected if you made the right decision in order to obtain his special mission item during the third story node. However, aside from that one point (and the part where you need to avoid the bad ending outlined above) you can make any choices you like, so this is a good opportunity to check out some alternate dialogue choices if you haven’t already.
