Divinity Original Sin 3 Not Happening Now At Larian, Nor Is A Toilet Simulator

In the lead-up to The Game Awards, there has been some speculation that the scary monolith teaser was for Divinity: Original Sin 3, but developer Larian has now clarified it’s not making that game. Nor is it making a toilet simulator game.

Publishing boss Michael Douse cleared things up on social media, posting, “There aren’t currently any plans for a new Divinity: Original Sin 3 game but once we are ready to show what we’ve been working on we will.”

What Larian is making next after the huge success of Baldur’s Gate 3 is a mystery, but the studio has said it has multiple projects in various stages of development. One project Larian fans won’t get, at least not soon, however, is a game about toilets.

Douse added, “I can confirm we aren’t working on a toilet simulator at this moment.”

The Game Awards monolith is also not teasing Diablo 4, The Elder Scrolls 6, or the next God of War game, according to reports.

In another post, Douse reacted to the revelation that a Definitive Edition of Divinity: Original Sin 2 recently emerged in a database leak by the PlayStation Store. “Hey, we weren’t meant to announce that yet,” he said. It remains to be seen when this may be formally unveiled.

Badur’s Gate 3 is nominated yet again this year for Best Community Support, and we’ll find out if it wins during The Game Awards on Thursday, December 11. We’ll also presumably find out exactly what that mysterious teaser statue was actually promoting.
