How to get the Cutter 1 blueprint in Starsand Island
You can’t buy or earn the Cutter 1 blueprint, but you can get it for free. Starsand Island just doesn’t really tell you how. Sort of.
Head to the general store in the southwestern part of the town, and speak to Zerine. If this is your first time chatting with her, you’ll get the introduction cutscene, and she’ll offer to teach you the basics of the crafting job. Whether you want to make crafting your first job or not, you should accept this offer (and you can always ignore the job after you get what you want).
After you accept Zerine’s task, head to the store counter and interact with the cash register. The first option, the not-so-aptly named Equipment Blueprint Pack, is what you’re after. It’s got nothing to do with equipment, but it does teach you how to make a set of necessary processing stations. And it’s free!
The Equipment Blueprint Pack teaches you to make:
- Cutter 1
- Furnace 1
- Charcoal Kiln
- Separator
The Cutter turns softwood pieces into softwood planks, which you need for pretty much every construction project. That includes the starter rabbit hutch for the rancher job. You’ll eventually need to upgrade it to a more advanced Cutter, but that’s not something you have to worry about for a while. For now, once you acquire the blueprint and build your Cutter, just make sure to take a portion of your softwood and process it into planks so you’ve got enough on-hand to build with at any time.
