Heartopia wild vegetable locations: Where to harvest tall mustard, fiddleheads, burdock, and mustard greens

0

While foraging isn’t directly related to any of Heartopia‘s numerous hobbies, it’s still a crucial activity if you want to experience everything the game has to offer, particularly when it comes to cooking up every recipe. While you’ll be cultivating many fruits and vegetables in your garden at home, there are plenty of them that are actually exclusive to foraging, and so far the only way to obtain mushrooms is by picking them out in the wild.

Dreamlight Cinematics Festival, the game’s second major content season since its global launch back in early January, is the first time new harvestable plants have been added to Heartopia’s map. Every outer biome now has its own variety of wild vegetable for you to gather, and they come in handy when cooking up the celtuce tacos that make up a good chunk of the season’s new cooking recipes. Read on for how to find tall mustard, fiddleheads (a.k.a. bracken), burdock, and more in Heartopia.

Heartopia wild vegetable locations

There are four varieties of wild vegetables available in Heartopia as part of the Dreamlight Cinematics Festival season – tall mustard, fiddlehead, burdock, and mustard greens. As with many Heartopia collectibles, these map neatly onto the four distinct regions of the outer map, with one wild vegetable native to each area.

Heartopia's extensive miscellaneous items catalogue shows the four varieties of wild vegetable sandwiched somewhat arbitrarily between meteor shards and other foraged fruits and vegetables.
You can check the status of your wild vegetable collection in the “Other Collections” tab, where they sit between meteor shards and other wild harvestables such as apples, mandarins, raspberries, and blueberries. | Image credit: VG247 / XD

Each wild vegetable is also used to cook one of the four celtuce taco varieties you can cook during the festival, although confusingly, their names (bracken, garlic mustard, burdock, and mustard green) don’t always directly correlate to their ingredients – so we’ll explain here which harvestable you need for which recipe, too.

Where to find Tall Mustard in Heartopia

Tall Mustard is exclusive to the Onsen Mountain region of Whale Island, and can initially only be found in the Ruins sub-area.

Completing event-exclusive jigsaw puzzles purchased from Azure can increase the number of Tall Mustard farming locations, but it still only appears in Onsen Mountain.

You can find plenty of Tall Mustard nodes around the Stonehenge rocks where the Capybaras hang out, although it also grows abundantly down by the nearby Old Sea shoreline. | Image credit: VG247 / XD

Harvestable patches of Tall Mustard resemble pale yellow or white flowers growing out of leafy beds. Once harvested, you’ll see a bundle of leaves that looks more like giant watercress.

Tall Mustard is the key ingredient for crafting Wild Garlic Mustard Celtuce Tacos, which is only slightly indicated by its name, but this is the plant you want for that particular recipe.

Where to find Fiddleheads in Heartopia

Fiddleheads are exclusive to the Forest region of Whale Island, and can initially only be found in the Deer Tower sub-area.

Completing event-exclusive jigsaw puzzles purchased from Azure can increase the number of Fiddlehead farming locations, but it still only ever appears in the Forest.

Fiddleheads are low ferny shrubs that are particularly commonly found at the water’s edge, although they can be harvested at other spots around the Deer Tower. Once harvested, Fiddlehead’s appearance is characterised by its green, curly leaves.

Despite its apparently unconnected name, Fiddlehead is the key ingredient for crafting Wild Bracken Celtuce Tacos.

Where to find Burdock in Heartopia

Burdock is exclusive to the Flower Field region of Whale Island, and can initially only be found in the Whale Mountain sub-area.

Completing event-exclusive jigsaw puzzles purchased from Azure can increase the number of Burdock farming locations, but it still only appears in the Flower Field.

Burdock farming nodes have a distinctive appearance, looking like purple-tipped seed pods growing out of a thick bed of leaves. Harvested burdock resembles a bundle of sticks somewhat similar to cinnamon.

Burdock, as its name suggests, is the key ingredient for crafting Wild Burdock Celtuce Tacos.

Where to find Mustard Greens in Heartopia

Mustard Greens are exclusive to the Fishing Village region of Whale Island, and can initially only be found in the Lighthouse sub-area.

Completing event-exclusive jigsaw puzzles purchased from Azure can increase the number of Mustard Greens farming locations, but it still only appears in the Fishing Village.

There aren’t too many appropriate spawn locations in the Lighthouse area, so this vantage point just below the lighthouse itself is a great spot for farming Mustard Greens. | Image credit: VG247 / XD

Mustard Greens farming spots resemble clumps of yellow flowers growing out of a leafy bed. Once harvested, Mustard Greens take on the appearance of bundles of long dark-green leaves.

Mustard Greens, as the name suggests, is the key ingredient for crafting Wild Mustard Greens Celtuce Tacos.
