How to complete Sylus’ 2026 birthday event in Love and Deepspace

0

Sylus may have joined Love and Deepspace as part of the game’s first major post-launch update, but his early spring birth date means that even now that LaDS is well into its third year, this week marks only the second time that his birthday has been celebrated in-game.

Out of the five love interests currently making up LaDS’ roster of eligible partners in both romance and combat, Sylus’ birthday falls second in the calendar year – and, given that the birthday event has received a bit of an overhaul for 2026, that means there’s plenty of new stuff to check out even if you’re a long-time player.

As ever, Sylus’ birthday event lasts from April 13th to 20th, with his actual birthday falling on April 18th. In other words, you have about a week to participate in all the new and returning birthday mini-games, experience this year’s brand-new event story, and of course wish on both new and rerunning birthday banners. So read on for everything you need to know about Sylus’ 2026 birthday celebrations in Love and Deepspace!

In order to participate in Sylus’ birthday event, you first need to have unlocked him as a love interest, which requires you to have played through to and completed at least Chapter 1-8 of Long-Awaited Revelry, which is the game’s second main story arc. (Good news if you’re both new and impatient, though: you can skip between arcs as soon as you reach Hunter Level 15, which you should be able to hit even if your account is only a few days old.)

Provided you meet this condition, logging into the game during Sylus’ birthday week and opening the Events tab will take you directly to the Rain Noctis event landing page.

Here, you can see all of the various activities available for celebrating Sylus’ birthday. You don’t have to complete every part of the event – although some activities are pre-requisites for others – but more or less anything you do will grant you a generous helping of Crow Chips, the unique limited event currency which can only be spent in the time-limited Nightvibe Shop for Sylus’ birthday event.

Rain Noctis activities and minigames

This is only Sylus’ second in-game birthday, but thanks to the overhaul of LaDS’ birthday events starting this year, it’s still quite a different set-up than the one you might have experienced if you were already playing this time last year.

Cake baking and ingredient collection are noticeable in their absence compared to previous years – there is still a cute cake involved, but it’s a preset you can admire without any customisation options. There’s no birthday card for you to write your own message in this time around either; instead, both of these former activities have been merged into a pre-written birthday greeting as part of the event story.

However, here’s what there is to do this year:

  • Birthday Warm-Up Storyline: The only part of the birthday event to remain completely unchanged compared to previous years, this is a unique four-part storyline releasing one chapter per day on April 13th, April 15th, and April 17th-18th, culminating on Sylus’ birthday itself. Birthday Stories don’t repeat in subsequent years, so 2026 is your only chance to aid our heroine in her ambitious mission to host a normal low-key birthday for the feared boss man of the N109 Zone.
  • Treasured Threads: Replacing the timed falling object collection game from previous years, this match-3 inspired minigame challenges you to chain as many matching icons as possible in a set number of moves, with the object of collecting Woven Hearts customisation tokens (see below). Four levels unlock daily from the start of the event up until April 16th, and you can replay each level an unlimited number of times to max out your tokens and star rankings.
  • Woven Hearts: Spend the tokens you earned playing Treasured Threads to unlock various customisation options in Wardrobe. (Note that unlike in previous years, there aren’t multiple token types required to unlock different customisation options – it all goes into one general pool.)

  • A plushie Sylus in Love and Deepspace's birthday event, with outfit customisation showing a series of outfits in different colour swatches.

  • Wardrobe: Use the cosmetics unlocked in Woven Hearts to customise a plushie of Sylus – including outfit, hair accessory, facial accessory, and up to three freely-placeable miscellaneous decorations (including but not limited to handheld items). You can save up to 20 drafts daily of different plushie designs prior to finalising it on Sylus’ birthday, and your current plushie design will display on the main event landing page.
  • Cake Prep: Unlike previous years where customising a birthday cake was among the main birthday event activities, this year a premade cake is automatically “prepping” up until it’s ready for delivery on the birthday itself.

Finally, beginning on Sylus’ actual birthday (April 18th), you’ll receive a video call from him recounting his thoughts on his birthday celebrations with you.

Nightvibe Shop event details

On the main event page, you can check Wishweave Plan for a list of activities – a mixture of event-related feats, more general in-game dailies, and of course banner pulls – that will earn you Sylus’ unique Year 2 birthday currency, Crow Chips. Navigating to Shop > Exchange > Nightvibe Shop will give you a chance to exchange any Crow Credits you earn for the following items:

If you find yourself with leftover Crow Credits at the end of the event, you can exchange each extra for 25 Gold through the Nightvibe Shop, which is definitely worth doing. Otherwise, as with other LaDS limited currencies, you can expect them to automatically convert to Gold once the event is through – so you won’t lose out completely if you forget to spend them all in time, though their buying power will likely be reduced.

Finally, don’t forget to check your mail during the event, either, as you’ll receive 10 Limited Deepspace Wishes that can only be redeemed on Sylus’ new Rainlit Night birthday banner. (You can’t use them for the Where Hearts Live rerun, sadly, since reruns require either regular Deepspace Wishes or their own special banner currency that’s incompatible with Limited Deepspace Wishes.)

However, if you don’t use them before the banner expires, they’ll be converted to regular Empyrian Wishes that can be used on the permanent X-Space Echo banner instead. In other words, whether you intend to wish on Sylus’ new birthday banner or not, it’s still worth claiming them – and you don’t need to worry about accidentally resetting pity if you’d rather just wait to spend them on the X-Space Echo permanent banner instead.

Love and Deepspace codes are a rare thing, but that just makes it all the more important not to miss one when we are blessed with a rare drop — so be sure to check our page regularly to make sure you’re keeping up-to-date!
