Sonic X Shadow Generations Deluxe Edition Is Out Now, Physical Preorders Include Collectible Book
Sonic X Shadow Generations’s Digital Deluxe Edition launched today, October 22. PC players can snag a Steam key for $52.19, down from $60, at Fanatical to start playing now. The standard edition, however, doesn’t release until this Friday, October 25, on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The $50 physical version comes with a cool collectible, and all preorders include a classic skin. Fanatical is also offering a preorder discount on the standard edition for PC.
The new game features a remastered edition of Sonic Generations, which was originally released on Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2011, plus an all-new story campaign featuring Shadow the Hedgehog. To read more about both, check out GameSpot’s Sonic X Shadow Generations review.
Sonic X Shadow Generations preorder bonuses
Preordering Sonic X Shadow Generations gets you the Sonic Adventure Legacy skin, which is based on Sonic’s low-poly 3D look from Sonic Adventure on Sega Dreamcast. The old-school cosmetic item is included with all physical and digital edition preorders on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Physical editions at launch come with a collectible replica of Gerald Robotnik’s Journal, which features in-universe details on the creation of Shadow the Hedgehog from Doctor Robotnik’s (Eggman’s) perspective. It’s included with PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox preorders.
$50 | Releases October 25
Sonic X Shadow Generations standard edition is available in physical and digital formats for $50. It includes the full base game on your platform of choice, plus the Sonic Adventure Legacy skin. Physical edition preorders also come with Gerald Robotnik’s Journal.
You can preorder a physical copy on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox for $50 at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop. Though the Xbox disc will grant access to both the Series X and Xbox One versions of the game, the physical edition for PlayStation users will only be available for PS5.
PC players can preorder the standard edition for Steam at Fanatical for $43.49.
