Destiny 2: How To Get Manifested Pages During Festival Of The Lost 2024
Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost has officially begun for 2024. It’s similar to the past, but things have been simplified: Spectral Pages have been removed entirely, meaning you can stay focused on directly collecting Manifested Pages and then using them to unlock stories in the Tales of the Forgotten.
Beyond getting some fun, bite-sized amounts of lore, you’ll also get the Ghost Writer title in the process. This is a fairly easy title to acquire if you don’t mind farming Haunted Sectors and playing some Crucible or Gambit, and getting your hands on a fat stack of Manifested Pages isn’t especially difficult. Here’s how you can easily get Manifested Pages and what to do with them.
How to get Manifested Pages in Destiny 2
To get started with Festival of the Lost, you need to pay a visit to Eva Levante at the Tower. Once you’ve done the introductory Haunted Sector quest, you can start working on uncovering the Shrouded Pages in the Tales of the Forgotten Vol. 4.
As noted above, what you’re doing here is now simpler. Previously, you had to collect Spectral Pages that could then be turned into Manifested Pages. Now, you’ll bypass that first step and earn Manifested Pages directly.
Manifested Pages are available throughout the game as completion rewards for most anything you do–but you must be wearing a Festival of the Lost mask to be eligible for these to drop. Additionally, Manifested Pages are available as a reward when completing Haunted Sectors, seemingly regardless of having a mask on, though you’re best off wearing a mask anyway throughout the event, which runs from October 29 until November 12.
Be sure to prioritize Headless One enemies in Haunted Sectors. Take down 10 Headless Ones during a single run, and you’ll earn bonus Manifested Pages on top of those you would normally earn from the activity.
Pages are rewarded in greater quantities when taking part in harder activities, like Heroic Public Events. That said, you’ll need to balance the additional time you’ll need to invest in completing harder versions of activities. Strategies for cheesing this, such as by leveraging a checkpoint to quickly farm pages, usually emerge, and we’ll report back if or when any viable ones are discovered.
How Haunted Sectors work
Haunted Sectors are essentially three-player Lost Sectors where you’ll encounter a special enemy type called Headless Ones. You’ll always want to prioritize taking down as many Headless Ones as possible since, as noted above, taking out 10 in a single run will net you extra Manifested Pages, thereby reducing the grind of the event.
To spawn a Headless One, you’ll need to stand in a highlighted circle to fill up a meter before the circle expires. It’s exceedingly straightforward all around, so you shouldn’t have many issues.
An Expert version of Haunted Sectors is available to those looking for more of a challenge, and you’ll earn more Manifested Pages and high-stat masks by taking part. However, be aware that matchmaking has been removed, though you can now use Fireteam Finder to team up with others.
What to do with Manifested Pages
As noted above, Manifested Pages can be taken to the book located near Eva, where they can be used to purchase new chapters in the Tales of the Forgotten Vol. 4; doing so represents several of the event challenges. The prices on these will range from just one up to as many as nine. (You can also spend one Manifested Page to unlock any chapters you missed in previous years.) Unlocking Vol. 4 chapters contributes progress to the Bookworm challenges, which have rewards like a shader and sparrow. Completing every challenge is also required to unlock the Ghost Writer challenge.
Festival of the Lost has a variety of rewards on offer, including a new shotgun called Arcane Embrace, but the more tantalizing aspect is the ability to unlock the returning Superblack shader. You can also use the event to bypass Dual Destiny and earn access to or farm Exotic class items.
