All Atomic Battery Locations in Atomfall
After waking up in Atomfall and making a start on exploring, you’ll very quickly discover that there are multiple of a highly-coveted artefact of sorts – the Atomic Battery – scattered across the map, usually in the hands of various characters who are unaware of the batteries’ purpose.
You’re ultimately going to need five of these things to be able to get to the bottom of what’s going on inside of the Interchange, and to make your escape from this post-apocalyptic land. Though, there are more than five of them to find, so you’ve options when it comes to how you get your hands on these batteries. To help you out, here are all Atomic Battery locations in Atomfall.
All Atomic Battery Locations in Atomfall
Throughout Atomfall, you will need to find a minimum of five Atomic Batteries that can be used to restore power to the Interchange. Fortunately, there happens to be more than five of these to find, so you have options – this is especially important if you’re one of those folk who accidentally kills important NPCs.
Atomic Battery #1
The first of the Atomic Batteries is found on a corpse in the Central Processor in the Interchange, and should be used in the battery slot that is directly in front of the corpse. That was straight-forward enough, but sadly, the other Atomic Batteries require a bit more legwork.
Atomic Battery #2
The second Atomic Battery you can quickly get your hands on in Atomfall is from an NPC called Molly, who is located at the Trader’s Camp found in Slatten Dale.
If you check out her inventory, you’ll see that she has one Atomic Battery available to trade. Molly is also a fan of alcohol, rifle bullets, and molotovs, so I recommend saving any you find – and don’t need to use – for trading with her.
On casual difficulty, I was able to successfully trade two Molotovs, some Painkillers, and a Poison Bomb for it. Those on Challenging difficulty will need to stock up on more booze or bombs, though!
Atomic Battery #3
The third Atomic Battery can be acquired after completing Vicar McHenry’s quest in Atomfall. He is found inside of St. Katherine’s Church in Wyndham Village, where you’ll also find that there’s been a murder.

If you’re able to resolve the murder – and take care of the murderer – efficiently, Vicar McHenry will give you a key to his chest, which he says contains a valuable artefact; this just so happens to be our Atomic Battery. You will find the chest upstairs in the church.
If you need some additional help with Vicar McHenry’s quest, here’s our guide on how to solve the murder in the church.
Atomic Battery #4
The fourth Atomic Battery can be found in Skethermoor, available to trade from a character called Nora, who’s shacked up in her barn at Thorndike Farm.

We’re not certain what Nora likes and dislikes at the time of writing, but it looks like you’ll need to trade something particularly valuable with her to get it.
In my experience, I had to trade almost everything in my inventory: a Molotov, some Tea, a Rusty Rifle, a Spiked Club, a Radiation Resistance Potion, a Sticky Bomb, and a Nail Bomb. This was on Casual difficulty too, so prepare to stock up on some semi-valuable goods for Nora if you wish to grab this Atomic Battery.
That said, if you don’t want to let go of your hard-earned items, there’s fortunately more Atomic Batteries to acquire, and you can ignore Nora’s one for trade altogether.
Atomic Battery #5
The fifth Atomic Battery in Atomfall is found in the Druid’s Camp in Casterfell Woods. Inside of the camp, there are two entrances into the Druid’s Castle Ruins; you want to enter via the white door with blue torches to reach the area with the battery.

Inside the Castle Ruins, advance ahead to where the High Priestess is chanting. Perform a takedown or her or clobber her to death, whatever you fancy, and you can grab the Atomic Battery from the floor to the left of her.
This area also happens to be where you’ll find the Strange Tonic Recipe and Mother Jago’s Book, if you have been keeping tabs on her quest at all.
Atomic Battery #6
A note found in Atomfall’s Data Store Delta (in the Interchange) suggests that another Atomic Battery was taken to Skethermoor’s Vehicle Depot, marked on the below map. Upon entering, make a note of the door that is to the left of you and take care of the Outlaws.

If you then go through the aforementioned door and explore the dormitory, you will find the Vehicle Bunker Storeroom Key. Use this on the metal double doors in the back corner of the room, and just inside, you’ll find an Atomic Battery, as well as plenty of radiation.
Atomic Battery #7
A note – Spare Batteries at the Dam – implies there is another Atomic Battery if you go ‘into Casterfell Wood and head north’ towards Casterfell Dam.

The deal with this particular Atomic Battery is that you’ll need to enter the Dam’s Control Room, in the east of the area, and pull the Substation Override Lever so that the right-most button (on the screen in front of you) is red and therefore powered down.
If you then enter this particular substation while it is powered down, you’ll find the bones of an unfortunate stranger, an Atomic Battery, and their backpack to loot.
More Atomic Batteries
Even more Atomic Batteries can be extracted from the large robots found patrolling across the map in Atomfall. Attack one, and as soon as it begins to overheat, get behind it and press ‘E’ to extract its battery. That puts a stop to the robot, and gives you another Atomic Battery to use.
Just take caution, as these robots tend to have friends in the form of Protocol Soldiers and more, who will attack you if you attack them first.
There are very light spoilers ahead for some Atomic Batteries players will find during Atomfall’s endgame. These are not used to power the Interchange, so if that’s all you came here for, don’t worry about the following information!
If you’re instead wondering what the endgame Atomic Batteries can be used for, read ahead.
Endgame Atomic Batteries
During the endgame of Atomfall, which sees you get up close and personal with Oberon after placing five Atomic Batteries around the Interchange, there are an additional two Atomic Batteries to be found in this area.
These two Atomic Batteries are to be used in this area if you wish to escape with Joyce Tanner, as they power up the Sample Extractor, allowing you to retrieve an Oberon sample for her.
You can, however, ignore these Atomic Batteries altogether if you are not bothering with Joyce’s quest.
