Once you reach the late-game in 99 Nights in the Forest, you gain access to the mysterious Anvil that’s been taunting you from the beginning of your adventure.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to reach the Anvil, how to fix the Anvil and what it does once you’ve brought it back to working order!
Where to find the Anvil in 99 Nights in the Forest
To reach the Anvil you need to have completed the following steps:
- Raise your camp fire to the max level of 5
- Have an axe good enough to chop down the wooden entrance
- Have a weapon capable of beating at least the 3 cultists inside and the alpha wolves guarding the entrance
On your map from the very start of your run you will see an Anvil icon with an exclamation mark over it somewhere far away from your camp.
To reach the Anvil you need to raise your camp fire to the max level of 5, then follow the map marker towards the Anvil until you reach the Anvil Building, which looks like a tall, cylindrical tower.
The Anvil tower will be guarded by alpha wolves, who can be dogged and annoying enemies because of their relentless ability to hunt down player characters. Either take care of the wolves or kite them into a position where they’re not going to attack you while you’re busy.
Next, use your axe to chop down the thick wooden blockage covering the entrance to the tower. It can take a very long time if you’re just using a basic or or good axe, so strong is recommended, but it depends on where you are in your run.
Once inside, you will have to defeat 3 more cultists. They’re not too tough, but try to isolate them into one-on-one battles, otherwise their combined damage can be tricky.
With the cultists taken care of, investigate the shadowy outline of an anvil on the ground in front of you.
How to fix the Anvil in 99 Nights in the Forest
To repair the Anvil, you need to find the 3 pieces that it’s made up of around the tower. These are the:
- Anvil Base
- Anvil Front
- Anvil Back
The Anvil Base is usually found around the ground floor of the tower, near the Anvil Outline.
To find the other parts of the Anvil you need to climb the green vines to reach the higher parts of the tower.
You can then add the Anvil Front and Back to your sack when you find them on the upper level and tower roof.
With all three pieces, return to the outline and drop them to repair the Anvil!
What does the Anvil do in 99 Nights in the Forest?
Once you’ve repaired the Anvil you now have access to three unique crafting recipes which let you create useful items you otherwise wouldn’t have easy access to.
These include the Hammer, which lets you move around structures you’ve placed, Bandages for healing yourself and allies, and the mighty Chainsaw.
The first two items are quite easy to make, but the Chainsaw requires late-game materials – chiefly Bear Pelts. These can be found outside the prisons of the last two missing children, as well as the deep forest you unlocked by beefing your camp fire up to level 5.
By reaching max level with your camp fire you also unlock new badges in the 99 Nights lobby, so be sure to return to the waiting area to redeem your badges and collect your free diamonds!
