Skills
Some skills are more useful to unlock first. Here are the important ones.
Survivalist Tree:
- In-Round Crafting – You can craft useful items during a round. You can make shields and bandages when you run out during combat.
- Traveling Tinkerer – You can craft more items during a round. Requires 15 points in Survivalist.
- Broad Shoulders – You can carry more weight. Useful when extracting with loot from other players. Requires 15 points in Survivalist.
Mobility Tree:
- Marathon Runner – You use less stamina.
- Youthful Lungs – Your maximum stamina increases.
- Calming Stroll – You can move around the map without worrying about stamina. Requires 15 points in Mobility.
Conditioning:
- Proficient Pryer – Opens loot beacons faster. You spend less time exposed in the open.
- Sky-Clearing Swing – Useful for staying hidden and avoiding attention. Requires 15 points in Conditioning.
Unlocking Order:
I recommend unlocking skills in this order:
- First get In-Round Crafting
- Then max out Youthful Lungs and Marathon Runner
- Put points into the Mobility tree until you reach 15 points to unlock Calming Stroll
Weapons
Starters
Ferro is the main weapon for fighting Arc and Raiders.
Stitcher works well as a secondary weapon for close range. It is lightweight and good for finishing off players after hitting them with the Ferro.
Only use the Rattler if you have trouble aiming or if you upgrade it to a higher tier. Higher tiers increase the magazine size, which is the Rattler’s main problem.
Each weapon takes a different amount of time to draw. A pistol as a secondary is useful in pvp when your primary weapon runs out of ammo.
Locations
Dam Battlegrounds
Control Tower Secret Room – Climb to the roof of the Control Tower (not the Research & Administration Building). There is a slope that leads to a ledge. Drop off carefully and land on the ledge below. Inside is a loot room with weapons, ammo, and crafting items.
Night Raids – This map variation has more ARC enemies. You get parts from them for upgrading workbenches. There is also more valuable loot. The drawbacks are fighting in darkness and fewer extraction points, which means more player encounters.
Crafting and Looting Tips
- Smoke Grenades – Bring a few to cover teammates at extraction while they use the terminal.
- Raider Hatch Keys – Put these in your safepocket before entering a round. You can use them to escape if normal extraction points are blocked or covered with enemies. You can craft or buy these keys.
- Recycle items you don’t need during a round to save space. This gives you stacks of materials that take up less room.
- Recyclables – Check before recycling items marked as “Recyclable”. Some items are needed for upgrading workbenches.
Other Tips
- Stash Expansion – You can expand your stash by clicking the “expand” button at the top of the stash menu. Each expansion costs more than the previous one.
- Free Loadouts – You can start a round with a free kit. Select the tab at the top before starting a round. The free kit gives you a random gun, some ammo, tools, and meds. The weight limit and storage slots are small compared to regular loadouts.
- Safepockets – Put quest items or crafting materials in your safepocket right away. You keep these items even if you die. The free loadout does not include a safepocket.
- Assorted Seeds – Save these. They are currency for one of the vendors. You can buy materials with them when needed.
- Save All Loot at Start – If you want to keep all your loot at the beginning, put every item on the ground before you open the door. This includes weapons, gear, and all other items. After that, open the door to begin the run. Pick up your items again and complete the run normally. When you get back to your base, the loot will be saved and you can use it in your next runs.
