Arcadia: Breath of the Land – Beginner’s Guide

Basic Guide for New Players

Leveling and Features

This game has a very fast-paced leveling early on, which quite honestly is quite unnecessary. The levels don’t serve any other purpose than unlocking more features in the game and give you slightly better stats, and the 400 levels before you “awaken” could just as well have been just 100 levels, but it gives the impression that you get a lot of progress quite quickly.

The real progress starts at level 400, where you have to grind bosses to unlock a series of trials, and “awaken” as the “Chosen One”. It is at this point you’ve unlocked much of the basic features in the game, and choices you make actually begin to count. Of the features, you can place them in four groups; Must-do, Optional, Events and non-essential.

Must-Do

The Must-do are the ones that give you EXP and Equipment/materials. These are the ones named Boss, Elf Boss, Daily, Dungeon, Store, Exchange Center, Claimable and Meditation. Why Store and exchange center?

Because the store contains a lot of items and materials that you need daily and in the future, for various currencies, while the exchange center lets you trade gears and other stuff for diamonds, and you will receive gear usable only to the opposite gender, that you can sell, and then use the diamonds earned to buy gear for your character’s gender, or use them in the diamonds store.

Optional

Of Optional ones you have the Holy Treasure, Super Treasure Hunt, Starnight Pet Summon, Arsenal and Blue Sky Stockmarket. These are not something you have to to pay attention to every day, though paying them a daily visit is still adviced.

They are mainly meant to strengthen you by using items you have gathered to gain more pets or other items that boost your character’s strength. Arsenal has the purpose of unlocking higher stats from equipping gear of higher tier and stars/color. The stock market is sort of a mini-game where you can earn a separate currency and buy items to strengthen yourself.

Events: Periodic and Daytime-Based

Periodic

Time-Based

Events come in two groups; you have the period-based events to the left, which are a set of events launched over a few days, and you have the daytime-based events, which launch a few times a day, showing up to the right.

I always recommend trying to do stuff in the periodic events, however don’t feel like you have to spend on them, because they are recurring and you will be able to spend event-based items when it returns in the near future. The Time-based events are more important, as they give you free daily rewards for participating in them, which can help your character to grow stronger faster.

Non-Essentials

non-essential features are, simply put, all the features that either tries to sell you stuff for real money or join the game’s various social platforms etc. Of these, I recommend unlocking the SVIP (see picture below), which doesn’t cost much to achieve, and doing the Zero Cost bundles (see below for examples), which returns the iridex you spend after a certain time from when the offer first became available.

The others are for pay-to-win spenders, however the game is plenty enjoyable without spending a lot of money, so there is no need to pay them much attention as you play.

Automation

The game is heavily based on automation. However, how can one enjoy a game that does “everything” for you? The simple answer is that while automation does makes things more easy on you, there are times where it is not necessarily the best option.

When Automation is a Bad Choice

A good example of this is pvp battle-events with multiple opponents like the Ash Frontline. If you leave it to automation, you will only go to the same boss over and over and die constantly in a mass-cluster of players, while completely ignoring the objective of collecting and transporting or escorting allies with essence stones.

There are also other events that require collecting a certain amount of items within a time-limit, where you can collect multiple items before delivering them, while the automation will go to the nearest item, collect it and walk back to deliver it. This does not only waste a lot of time, but you are also competing with other players collecting on auto, as the items can only be picked up a couple of times before disappearing for a few seconds and then respawn.

Another situation where automation is not necessarily the best option, is when you are walking to a boss that is not in a safe zone, as instead of fighting the boss, your character might attack other players currently fighting it instead, and that can escalate into a battle with stronger players/teams. If you also have auto instant-revive turned on, you can quickly find yourself running out of starbinds and iridex, as your character will use these to revive and fight the player/team again.

When Automation is a Good Choice

There are several “good” ways to use the automation as well. One example is to fight efficiently when you DO intend to fight someone. Another is when you want to get daily tasks done quickly.

By buying the Elf Scepter for 980 starbind, you can unlock all the necessary auto-functions for getting the daily tasks done. You also have the Holy Elf Scepter for $4.99, which gives you better stat-bonuses and allows you to challenge 6 star developer-bosses with bots on your team (elf scepter allows up to 5 star dev-boss with bots).

With either of these you can auto-challenge all the bosses in the Boss-menu and do the daily events Princess Escort and Divine Chest, as well as Dragon Isle treasure hunting automatically.

Using the Auto-play in the Assistant-menu, you can set up which to do automatically and which to do manually or save for later, for instance if you want to do World and Abyss boss with a friend or your oathed partner.

The Quick Blitz will allow you to do most other daily tasks using blitz card-items. The blitz cards costs 10 starbind however, and you only earn a few daily, so do be mindful when using this feature.

As your VIP level increases, you will also be able to buy additional attempts for starbind/iridex, so always check if you can add more attempts (this also counts for Exclusive boss).

Retrieve the Hidden Treasure Trove

You may or may not (most likely not) have noticed that under “Daily” there is also a menu named “Retrieve”.

This one allows you to retrieve rewards from missed daily attempts upto two days back, and you will almost certainly have at least one daily attempt that you have missed, so always check this one for any missed rewards.

You have two ways of retrieving the rewards; by paying with Starbind or Gold Coin. While retrieving all of them using Starbind yields higher rewards, I recommend paying with Gold Coins first, then do the ones that remain with Starbinds, so that you don’t end up spending all of them. Starbinds is an important currency for various events and bundles, so save them when you can.
