Assassin’s Creed Shadows: All Samurai Daisho locations

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Samurai Daisho are the warrior captains found inside castles and forts who carry the keys to that fortification’s Legendary chest. Once you’ve defeated all of the Daisho, you can unlock the chest for yourself and claim its prize.

However, sometimes it’s tricky to track these Daisho down. For one they tend to wander around their castles, surveying their troops and performing their rounds. But more so, particularly in large castles with many different Daisho, you often have to search a large area with many different levels, outbuildings and walled fortifications. This can make picking the last Daisho out difficult, particularly if there’s already a battalion of guards on your tail.

To help, we’ve embedded an interactive map showing the locations of every Samurai Daisho in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, below.

Apparently, the term “Daisho” translates to “Big and Little”, referring to the fact that these revered samurai were allowed to wear two different swords because of their elevated station. Alongside the more famous long katana, they also carried a shorter tanto dagger for close combat, piercing enemy equipment, and – if the worst should happen – cutting open their own bellies in the act of Seppuku.

Although she’s not afforded the official title, you could call Naoe a Daisho as well, since she often carries a long katana for battle and a tanto to perform double assassinations.

How to find Samurai Daisho in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Samurai Daisho are always found within the castle or fort they’re attached to. However, they can be in any part of that castle, from around the entrance gate to inside the tallest part of the castle keep, the tenshu.

If you hold L2 as either Naoe or Yasuke, you can draw the camera close into their body and highlight any objects of interest in the immediate area. When you do this, Samurai Daisho will be highlighted with a blue-white dot, then an icon resembling a samurai helmet.
