Avowed Premium Edition Is Just $50 At Walmart, But Probably Not For Long

For anyone who’s interested in Avowed but hasn’t picked it up yet, Walmart is offering digital Xbox Series X|S and PC codes of the Avowed Premium Edition for just $49.79. Normally, this version of the game costs $90 on the Xbox Store, meaning you’ll be saving nearly 50% if you purchase the digital code from Walmart. It’s also cheaper than the digital standard edition, which sells for $70. We’re not sure how long the deal will be available or if stock is limited, so be sure to grab an Avowed Premium Edition digital code while you can.

Avowed is the latest RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and is set in the same fantasy world as the studio’s Pillars of Eternity series. However, unlike PoE’s classic top-down CRPG gameplay, Avowed is a first-person RPG that builds off the gameplay of the studio’s previous title, The Outer Worlds. Imagine a more streamlined version of The Elder Scrolls where you explore a series of densely packed, segmented maps rather than a single giant landscape, and you’ll have a good sense of what to expect.

While GameSpot scored the game a 6/10 in our review due to some middling story and lackluster companions, Avowed’s combat and exploration are excellent and well worth the price of admission–especially at just $50.

If Walmart’s Avowed Premium Edition deal runs out and you’re looking to pay as little as possible to play the game, the next best option is Game Pass Ultimate, which includes the standard PC and Xbox editions as part of its rotating library of games. You’ll miss out on the Avowed Premium Edition content and will only have access to the game as long as you’re a subscriber, but the $20/month price technically makes it the most affordable option.
