It’s been years since Battlefield fans were truly excited about the next game in the series. Battlefield 6 is clearly the game that managed to reignite that passion. It not only has series fans counting down the days until launch, it even managed to hold the attention of players from across the multiplayer shooter genre.
Considering the community sentiment coming out of the recent beta, it’s hard to imagine this release would be anything but spectacular. This is why we put this guide together to cover all the information we know about the impending launch.
Battlefield 6 early access
Battlefield 6 launches October 10 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Strangely – and very much unlike most EA-published games – it won’t have any sort of early access period, meaning all players will get to jump in on the same day.
The game’s more expensive edition – the Phantom Edition – includes the first season’s battle pass and some cosmetics, but it won’t let you play early.
Battlefield 6 pre-load times
Though you won’t be able to play the game early, you will be able to download the files ahead of time so you’re as ready as possible for launch. It goes without saying that pre-loading will only be available for players who pre-ordered the game.
Battlefield 6’s per-load is available now across PC and consoles.
Battlefield 6 pre-load size
While download sizes vary for each platform, EA has confirmed that players will be able to pick which components they want to install, similar to the way Call of Duty has been doing it for years.
In other words, you’ll get to download single-player and multiplayer content separately, or decide not to download one or the other. This also goes for ultra textures on PC, which unlock Overkill quality, but require additional space and GPUs with higher VRAM.
Battlefield 6 launch times
Servers for Battlefield 6 will go live at the same time across all platforms and all regions. This goes for the single-player, too, meaning you’ll have to wait until the times below to access any of the game’s modes. See below for the launch times:
Friday, October 10 at:
- 8am PT
- 11am ET
- 4pm BST
- 5pm CEST
- 6pm EEST
- 7pm GST
- 11pm CST
Battlefield 6 day one patch
EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will require a day one patch. This only really matters to console players who will be getting the game on disc. For everyone with a digital pre-load, the patch will either be included in the pre-load package, or it’s going to arrive a little closer to the October 10 launch.
While a comprehensive list of changes and fixes has not been provided, much of what’s include is based on beta feedback. Expect adjustments to movement, tweaks to weapon recoil and effective ranges, fixes to out-of-bound exploits and more.
Battlefield 6 PC specs
The PC specs have not actually changed from the beta, which is pretty good news. The Battlefield 6 beta ran very smoothly on a wide range of PC hardware configurations, so we’re optimistic the same is going to be true for launch.
Just as a reminder, the game requires Secure Boot to be enabled in your PC’s bios/UEFI as well as your Windows install. Check out this article for some guidance, if you’ve never done this before. If you already made those changes to play the beta, you’re all set! We also recommend keeping an eye out for the latest GPU drivers; download and install those before playing.
