Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 Adds A New 20v20 Mode With Wingsuits And Grappling Hooks

As part of the big Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reveal at Gamescom today, Activision announced more details on the game’s multiplayer mode, including the reveal of a 20v20 mode.

It’s called Skirmish, and it has players racing around not just to shoot each other but also to complete objectives. The Skirmish mode also features new abilities, including wingsuits and grappling hooks. Additionally, it has vehicles in what’s described as a large-scale mode.

Black Ops 7 takes place in the year 2035 and features futuristic weapons and gear. Additionally, Black Ops 7 has a new “Overlock” system that allows players to further augment their loadouts. Beyond that, the Omnimovement system from Black Ops 6 is back in Black Ops 7, and it’s beefed up with a wall-jumping ability.

At launch in November, Black Ops 7 will have 16 6v6 maps–13 are new and three are remakes from Black Ops 2. Skirmish will have two maps at launch. There will be 30 weapons available at launch, including 28 ranged weapons and two melee. Of the 30 weapons, 16 are brand-new to Call of Duty.

A multiplayer beta for Black Ops 7 kicks off in early October, allowing players to try out some of Black Ops 7’s new multiplayer features. The full game, meanwhile, launches on November 14.
