Capcom’s Pragmata Gets Release Date, Demo Out Now

This year’s Game Awards didn’t waste any time before dropping some news. Capcom’s upcoming sci-fi title, Pragmata, finally has a release date: April 24, 2026. But if you want to get your hands on the game early, the Pragmata demo is available right now on Steam.

In addition to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Pragmata will also be available on Nintendo Switch 2. Pragmata was originally announced in 2020, and it was subsequently delayed before it was dropped from Capcom’s release calendar.

The game puts players in the role of Hugh, an astronaut in the near future who is accompanied by Diana, an android who appears as a little girl. The unlikely pair needs to work together as they attempt to survive on a lunar research station. While players primarily control Hugh, there will be times when Diana comes to the forefront.

Diana may not be physically formidable, but she can use her mind to hack enemy robots and freeze them in place, giving Hugh time to take them down.

Earlier this year, producer Naoto Oyama noted that the RE Engine had to be modified for Pragmata to allow Diana’s character model to have long hair.

“The RE Engine is, first of all, something that we’ve all really built to create something that’s important for us as a backbone for our games,” Oyama said. “And so, with that, we also have the ability to always request stuff when we want to add this or that to the RE Engine. One of these which is visually easy to understand is Diana’s hair, which is made up of strands.”
