The best grip we’ve tried for Nintendo Switch 2 is on sale at Best Buy as a last-minute holiday deal. Dbrand’s Killswitch Grip Case Travel Bundle is discounted to $72 (was $80). Though it’s pricier than many Switch 2 grips available on Amazon, the Killswitch has superb ergonomics, a clever dock adapter that works seamlessly, and a three-piece design that lets you use the grips for mouse mode and single Joy-Con 2 motion controls. Additionally, the Travel Bundle replaces the need for a traditional carrying case since it has a detachable hardshell cover with a built-in slots for game cards.
For a long time, Dbrand accessories were only sold directly from the manufacturer’s website, but Best Buy recently became Dbrand’s first major retail partner. Best Buy also has the new ROG Xbox Ally Killswitch Grip Travel Bundle for $72 (was $80)–in case you take advantage of the last-minute holiday deal on the Xbox Ally handheld PC at Amazon.

Like other Killswitch grips from Dbrand, the handles have a firm, slightly rubberized feel. Since the Switch 2’s launch, we’ve seen a bunch of grips pop up on Amazon that mimic the form factor of the Killswitch. There’s a good reason for that: It’s the best. Each Joy-Con 2 grip has a contoured ridge to rest your middle fingers on. It feels incredibly natural and remains comfortable throughout hours of use.
The low-profile case covers the back of the console without adding bulk to the top or sides; the casing extends up 2.5mm on the top and sides of the Switch 2. All of the ports are accessible with the case attached, and the console’s built-in kickstand can still be used.
To dock the Switch 2 for TV mode, you need to use the included adapter stand. This USB-C stand slides over the front of the dock and attaches securely to the USB-C port inside the dock. Then you connect the Switch 2 to the USB-C stand and play like normal. I’ve been using the dock adapter since launch, and it works flawlessly. And you don’t need to worry about performance dips due to passthrough, as the adapter supports 4K resolution at 60fps.
As mentioned, the Travel Bundle comes with a detachable front cover that allows you to ditch a traditional carrying case. The cover offers “over 100 lbs of crush-proof protection.” The fiber bungee strap that secures the cover is 15 times stronger than steel, according to Dbrand.
The travel cover also has a built-in storage holder with slots for 10 game cards. The bundle includes a pair of low-profile Joy-Con 2 stick caps that feel great.
Best Buy only carries the Killswitch Travel Bundle, but there are two other options and numerous add-ons if you buy the grip directly from Dbrand. If you don’t want the travel cover, the grip with the dock adapter is available for $60. There’s also an Ultra Bundle that comes with two of Dbrand’s great tempered glass screen protectors for $100. If you buy the Killswitch from Dbrand, you’ll also get Joy-Con 2 skins.
More Nintendo Switch 2 Grips
Dbrand’s Killswitch is far from your only option when it comes to ergonomic grip cases for Switch 2. At the moment, the most popular Nintendo Switch 2 grip on Amazon is the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro, which the manufacturer states was engineered with “military-grade standards.” It has rubberized, textured grips and a stylish back plate. The Unicorn Beetle Pro is dockable, but the case blocks the console’s kickstand. Amazon has Supcase’s Switch 2 grip for $29-$31 (was $36), depending on which color you pick. Another popular pick right now is the Mumba Blade Grip Case, which is available in a dozen colors and is on sale for $20 (was $29).
The two grips shown below, the Satisfye ZenGrip 2 and Genki Attack Vector, are two other options I’ve tried and enjoyed. If you’ve used a Satisfye grip before, chances are you’ll like ZenGrip 2. It adds traditional handles to the Switch 2 and is dockable. The ZenGrip 2 goes for $49 or $70 in a bundle with a custom hardshell carrying case. Genki’s Attack Vector is a modular grip case with three sets of grips with different form factors. The Attack Vector is dockable and includes a detachable travel cover. Amazon has a great deal that drops the price of Genki’s Attack Vector Travel Bundle to $42 (was $60).
Skull & Co.’s Savage Raven NeoGrip for Switch 2 also comes with three different pairs of ergonomic grips in black or red/blue. The NeoGrip is $30 on its own or $50 with a hardshell travel case.
CRKD recently revealed its working on a Nitro Deck 2 handheld controller for Switch 2. The Nitro Deck 2 replaces the Joy-Con 2 altogether to improve controls, customization options, and ergonomics. The Nitro Deck 2 is priced at $100 and releases Spring 2026. If you want to replace your Joy-Con 2 Controllers now, the GameSir G8 Plus ($80) and GameSir X5s ($50) are mobile controller cradles that work well with Nintendo Switch 2.
Besides the Nitro Deck 2, the only handheld controller we’ve seen that was designed specifically for Switch 2 is the Gammeefy Controller for $47.49 (was $54). We haven’t tested this one, but it has Hall Effect sticks RGB lighting, four extra remappable buttons, and a bunch of other customizable features. The original Switch version was well-received by Amazon customers, and the Switch 2 edition looks promising–and it’s available now.
