DOOM: TDA Chapter 12 Sentinel Command Station secrets

DOOM: The Dark Ages’ Sentinel Command Station sees the Slayer stomping around and preparing his dragon for take-off while the place is under attack. It’s a small level, especially when compared to The Siege’s Battlefield, but there are some very well-hidden secrets to keep an eye out for.

You’ll also need to do some backtracking here, which can be easy to forget about. To help ensure you don’t miss a thing, here’s our DOOM: The Dark Ages’ Sentinel Command Station walkthrough, which details where to find all secrets and collectibles.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Sentinel Command Station secrets

As you stomp through the Sentinel Command Station chapter in DOOM: The Dark Ages, you’ll want to keep an eye on your map for the following secrets, collectibles, and items:

  • 9 Secrets
  • 1 Codex Entry (Collectible)
  • 1 Toy (Collectible)
  • 1 Weapon Skin (Collectible)
  • 1 Demonic Essence Upgrade (Health)
  • 1 Ruby
  • 1 Wraithstone

As we make sure to keep reminding you of during DOOM: The Dark Ages walkthrough, be sure to open your map regularly. If you’re near any collectibles or secrets, they’ll appear on your map, and you can also use the list on the right-hand side of your map to keep a track of what items you have and don’t have so far.

A solid rule of thumb is to make sure you’re scouring the map before moving onto new areas and passing any points of no return.

Secret #1 and Collectible #1

Follow your quest objective into the first room, which has two doors – each with a terminal in front of them – that you need to interact with (shown below).

Following that, an assault on the Sentinel Command Station begins, blowing a vent open to the left the room; go through here, and once outside of it, keep right.

Keeping right after exiting the vents will take you to our first secret location for this chapter (shown above), and you’ll also happen to find plenty of Gold and a Codex entry here.

Secret #2 and Collectible #2

Follow your quest marker past the point of no return next. In the following room, a Weapon Skin can be seen through a locked gate on your left. To grab this, walk over to the red hologram of the Command Station and look left of it to see a vent you can Shield Bash through (shown below).

Go through the vent and follow the path around to grab plenty of Gold and eventually reach the Weapon Skin. This is also our second secret for the chapter.

Secret #3

Follow your quest marker past the point of no return again, ultimately jumping down into an enemy encounter. Your objective now is to find the Yellow Keycard and use it to access the Hangar.

Go through the gap in the wall on the right side of the room (if you’re facing away from the door that needs the Yellow Keycard, and shown below).

In the next room, there is a locked gate in need of the Secret Key on your right. We will come back here later!

Straight ahead and to the left, there’s also a wall on the right side of the corridor that you can climb up leading to a vent, but the vent is locked shut for now. From the climbable wall, shown below, U-turn and interact with the terminal behind you.

After interacting with the terminal, go back to where you entered this room, and there’ll be some enemies to take care of. Head to the right of them, towards the quest objective, once they’re dealt with.

You’ll arrive at a Sentinel Shrine, some Gold, and another terminal you need to interact with. This opens the vent we were just talking about; climb inside it and take a right to collect our third secret area and a Life Sigil. Go back on yourself and towards the projectiles to continue.

In the following room, collect the Ravager from the Arsenal drop and continue following your quest marker.

Demonic Essence Upgrade (Health)

In the next room, defeat the Pinky Rider to receive the Demonic Essence Health Upgrade for this chapter.

Secret #4

Follow your quest objective until you come to a room with a Gold Chest inside; you can’t miss it. On the left-hand side of this room, you’ll need to interact with another terminal.

Follow your quest marker through the illuminated-green door and into the elevator.

At the top, continue following the objective until you eventually find yourself in a room right beside the Yellow Keycard; there’ll be a Mancubus across a large drop here firing at us. Beside him, however, there’s a Flesh Node we can use to grapple hook ourselves over to him (pictured below).

Your quest objective will prompt you to take a right next, but continue straight ahead instead and you’ll jump down on top of a statue holding a Ruby (shown on the below map). This is our fourth secret location!

You can Shield Bash the crate down here to create a path back upwards. Follow your quest marker again!

Secret #5

In the next corridor, defeat the Enforcer Pinky Rider. There will also be another locked gate here – in need of the Secret Key – that leads to a room containing a Wraithstone. Don’t worry, we’re going to grab the Secret Key shortly.

Go into the room up ahead (shown on the below map), and retrieve the Yellow Keycard. Go through the gate here using the Yellow Keycard now, and you should see a small alcove with a Gold Chest in it just up ahead; carefully jump over to this. This is our fifth secret location!

Secret #6, Secret #7, and Secret Key

From the Gold Chest, U-turn, and you should see a vent (shown below) that you can Shield Bash into.

Make your way through the vent, and once you climb up the opposite end of it, U-turn again. Jump over to the Life Sigil here (pictured below) to unlock the sixth secret location for this chapter.

In the next room, you’ll see the Secret Key in the very middle, which also happens to be our seventh secret location. Clear the enemy encounter here to be able to access it.

Secret #8

After collecting the Secret Key, exit the room and you’ll see the locked gate – leading to a room containing a Wraithstone – in front of you (marked on the below map).

You can enter this room using the Secret Key now, which will unlock the seventh secret location for this chapter, but you will need to defeat an Agaddon Hunter before being able to access the Wraithstone.

Return to the Gold Chest from earlier, but this time, follow your quest marker and jump down to the bottom of the elevator shaft.

Secret #9 and Collectible #3

In the following room, grab the Shield Rune: Auto Turret from the small, green pool and follow your quest objective. Deal with the following enemy encounter, and before using the Yellow Keycard to enter the Hangar, go through the gap in the wall in this room first (route drawn on the map below).

Return to the locked gate from earlier and use the Secret Key on it to unlock the eighth secret and Collectible Toy for this chapter. | Image credit: Bethesda/VG247

We’ll be in a corridor that we looted earlier, but there is still a locked gate needing a Secret Key on the right. Open it, which unlocks the eighth secret area, and grab the Collectible Toy Kreed Maykr.
