If you hopped into Elden Ring Nightreign’s network testing back in February, now’s your chance to look at some numbers and say ‘I contributed to that’. FromSoft’s put out some stats about the usual stuff – from boss kills to runes lost.
All the stuff you did around Valentines Day when you were getting wrecked by a bunch of big lads, laid bare for people to look at for two seconds before giving a thumbs up and moving on with their lives. Video games.
Anyway, if you fanmcy giving them a look, FromSoft’s put out these stats in a nice blog post on its website. “Thousands of players faced hordes of enemies, tried dozens of weapons, and searched relentlessly for the lair of their first Nightlord during the Network Test,” it wrote, “Whether or not you were among those chosen few, you can join the hunt on May 30, 2025.”
By far the biggest number included in the roundup is 37,957,453,867 – or just short of 38 billion – which is the number of runes that were lost during the test because folks failed to retrieve them before being slapped into oblivion again by whatever obstacle they were bashing their head against.
Don’t worry, I’m sure you didn’t need, er, almost as many runes as the amount of US government dollars as government spending disliker Elon Musk’s businesses have benefitted from over the years, according to a Washington Post report from earlier this year.
Beyond that, heading into the realm of bosses people actually like, the test’s sole Nightlord – the three-headed wolf Gladius, Beast of Night – was beaten 58,615 times during it. In terms of other enemies, 194,996 Golden Hippos were killed, 164,974 Flame Chariots were smashed to bits, and 150,128 fire monks burned through their luck.
People were nice too, with 23,627,489 attacks being used to save downed players. Finally, Spectral Hawk joyrides were naturally pretty popular, with folks summoning them 427,533 times during the test.
