Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is the end of the remake trilogy Square Enix kicked off with, er, Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Though, it looks like than ending might go on a bit longer than you might have anticipated. A cluster of listings in the backend of the Epic Games Store appear to suggest a heap of DLC’s planned for Revelation, including a “Story Expansion Pass”.
The listings, spotted via EpicDB, mention up to 9 DLCs for Revelation, as well as the “Story Expansion Pass”. Also listed are the likes of the game’s premium edition and a fork that delivers it with pre-order bonuses.
What will all of these DLCs include, assuming they don’t just turn out to be placeholders? Nobody knows at this juncture. Without the story expansion pass pointing definitively towards some extra additions to Revelation’s narrative, these could all just be extra costumes or similar. A bunch of them still very much could be the latter, since there’s no hint as to how much of the DLC would be part of the story expansion, with the pass likely being a way to buy any and all such DLC in one fell swoop rather than separately.
For reference, Revelation’s predecessor Rebirth has six DLCs listed on Steam, with two of them being orchestral tunes. Remake, meanwhile, got a story-focused DLC dubbed Episode Intermission.
My FF knowledge is very limited, so I’m going to take a shot in the dark by guessing that Revelation will get DLC which sees Cloud Strife go somewhere with his big knife. Cloud Strife and Cloud Strife will tag along for the adventure, riding in a giant Cloud Strife. The baddie will be Sloud Crife, with his minions Sroud Clife and Strud Cloife. It’ll end with Cloud turning to the camera and declaring “Well, that truly was the seventh Final Fantasy, but will it be the final Final Fantasy?” before running off into the woods giggling.
I look forward to everyone experience that heartfelt emotional climax in 2027.
