Genshin Impact 5.6 banners bring a of HSR style to Inazuma and give Furina her new best friend in Escoffier

The Genshin Impact 5.6 banners get a little Honkai Star Rail flair, as HoYoverse brings multiple banners back as the Natlan story starts to wind down. The upcoming Genshin Impact version includes two new characters, three highly anticipated reruns, and two Chronicled Wish banners where you designate which 5-star character or 5-star weapon you want to get. Well, within reason. You’ll still have the 50/50 to contend with.

Our Genshin Impact 5.6 banners guide lists who’s featured in each banner and explains how the Inazuma Chronicled Wish works.

The first round of Genshin 5.6 banners goes live with the version update on May 7, 2025, or late on May 6 depending on your time zone. They bring Navia back and introduce Escoffier, a Fontaine patissier.

  • Escoffier (5-star, Cryo, Polearm)
  • Navia (5-star, Geo, Claymore)
  • Ifa (4-star, Anemo, Catalyst)

Escoffier is made for freeze teams. Her skill places a mek on the battlefield that fires Cryo shots at intervals, and her third passive reduces enemy Cryo and Hydro resistance when the party has Hydro and Cryo characters in it – up to a 55 percent reduction with four Hydro or Cryo characters. Escoffier’s burst also deals heavy Cryo damage and heals the party based on her attack.

Navia is an excellent Geo damage dealer who powers up when the team causes the Crystallize reaction. Her rotation means she works best as a sub-DPS character, though, so you’ll want to put some thought into her team composition.

Finally is Ifa, a new Natlan character who specializes in plunging attacks, grouping enemies with Anemo bullets, and healing the party. His plunging multipliers seem about on par with Xianyun’s – so, decent but not like Diluc’s – though his passives make him a little more unusual. His second passive lets him increase the party’s Swirl and Electro-Charge damage, so he’ll work well with other Anemo characters, along with sources of Electro and Hydro damage.

Genshin Impact 5.6 banners phase two – Kinich and Raiden Shogun

Kinich is coming back for his first rerun in the second round of Genshin 5.6’s banners, with Raiden Shogun making her first appearance since version 4.3.

Kinich deals heavy Dendro damage on his own and benefits from having Pyro characters around, such as Mavuika, as one of his passive talents restores his Nightsoul Points when enemies take Burning or Burgeon damage. More Nightsoul Points means Kinich can use his powered-up skill for longer.

Raiden Shogun remains one of Genshin Impact’s best support and damage-dealing characters. She grants the party extra energy recharge and powers her ultimate when other characters use theirs. She’s also a fantastic source of Electro, thanks to a skill that deals Electro damage when the active character attacks.

Genshin Impact 5.6 Chronicled Wish banners

HoYoverse is bringing back the Chronicled Wish banners for Genshin 5.6, and this time, Inazuma is the highlight. You can designate a specific 5-star character or 5-star weapon that you want to aim for, and throw your wishes at the banner. Like with regular limited-time banners, you’ll have a chance of getting the target character or weapon, though if you end up with a different one instead, the next 5-star on that banner is guaranteed to be your chosen one.

The characters are:

  • Kamisato Ayaka (5-star, Cryo, Sword)
  • Kamisato Ayato (5-star, Hydro, Sword)
  • Chiori (5-star, Geo, Sword)
  • Arataki Itto (5-star, Geo, Claymore)
  • Sangonomiya Kokomi (5-star, Hydro, Catalyst)
  • Yae Miko (5-star, Electro, Catalyst)
  • Kaedehara Kazuha (5-star, Anemo, Sword)
  • Yoimiya (5-star, Pyro, Bow)

The Chronicled Wish weapons are all the signature weapons for each character.
