In the maze of subterranean tunnels bored by the twisted insectoids of Hollow Knight Silksong, danger lurks around every corner. But if Hornet is going to conquer even the darkest corners of Pharloom, she’ll need tireless stamina and every inch of strength she can muster.
Similar to Hearts in the Legend of Zelda series, your health in Silksong is measured by Masks. To upgrade your health and increase the amount of hits Hornet can take before she’s defeated, you need to collect Mask Shards from around Pharloom and piece together new Masks from the fragments.
Each health upgrade requires a total of 4 Mask Shards before you can add an extra Mask to your health bar. However, they’re relatively rare, especially compared to easier and more forgiving games than Silksong.
To acquire them, you often need to make use of specific traversal abilities, complete combat challenges, fulfil particular Wishes or purchase them from Merchants.
Below we’ve listed the locations of every Mask Shard we’ve found, which is enough to massively upgrade your health total and double your starting health pool.

Two Shards are purchased from the Merchants Jubilana in Songclave and Pebb in Bone Bottom.
Four Shards are rewards for completing Wishes. These are the “Fastest in Pharloom” Wish given by Sprintmaster Swift at the end of the Far Fields, and the “Savage Beastfly”, “Dark Hearts” and “Hidden Hunter” Wishes from Bellhart.
The rest can be obtained by platforming through out-of-the-way areas and inside hidden rooms.
