Love and Deepspace‘s resident yandere, Caleb, only joined the dating sim’s romanceable character roster in January of this year, so naturally his 2025 birthday is the first one you get to celebrate together in-game, since he was a little bit missing-presumed-dead this time last year. If that gets you feeling sorry for him, then well, good thing there’s a perfect opportunity to make up for lost time now, since his debut birthday event is currently live in the game and will be running until June 15th.
That only gives you about a week to complete all of the event tasks, as well as to wish on the concurrent birthday banner that goes with it. Both the Summer Daydream event and the No Return Night banner end this weekend, so read on below for everything you need to do to experience Caleb’s birthday celebrations in full before then!
How to complete the Summer Daydream event in LaDS
Romanceable characters’ birthday events in Love and Deepspace all follow a basic template, but with details that make each one unique to the love interest whose special day is being celebrated. Since Caleb’s birthday more-or-less coincides with the summer solstice, there’s some heavy beach holiday theming going on with his birthday bash. Think citrussy drinks and swimming pools, accompanied of course by plenty of whimsical sky imagery for our favourite pilot.
Entering LaDS’ event tab during the run of Summer Daydream will present you with all the options available for celebrating Caleb’s birthday. You don’t have to complete every part of the event – although some activities are pre-requisites for others – but more or less anything you do participate in will grant you a generous helping of a unique limited event currency (see below).
Here’s an overview of every activity in the event:
Birthday Warm-Up Storyline: A four-part side-story, releasing one chapter per day from June 9-12, sees the heroine and Caleb preparing to spend his birthday together.
Heart’s Whispers: This one-off activity allows you to write a personalised message of up to 60 characters in a birthday card for Caleb. (You can edit this as many times as you like up until his birthday on Friday.)
Inspiration Collection: A mini-game which tasks you with collecting falling objects (and, at higher levels, dodging undesired ones) to collect inspiration for the various components of Caleb’s birthday cake. Four levels unlock daily from the start of the event up until June 11th, and you can replay each level an unlimited number of times to ensure you get all the ingredients you need.
Blueprints: Spend the various Inspiration components collected in the mini-game to unlock Blueprints, each of which grants a new DIY idea for Caleb’s birthday cake, as well as a short story of the memory which leads the heroine to choose each design aspect.
DIY: Finally, put all of the components you’ve gathered from Blueprints together to design a birthday cake for Caleb, combining shapes, flavours, toppers, décor, and banners freely. You can save up to 20 drafts of different cake designs, and the cake won’t be finalised until you finish up with a candle and bake it.
Finally, beginning on Caleb’s actual birthday (June 13th), you’ll receive a video call from Caleb recounting his thoughts on his birthday celebrations with you.
Summer Daydream event shop details
During the course of the Night Whisper event, you’ll earn a unique limited currency called Pilot Ta-Ta Discs (yes, really, I have no idea why – they’re CDs, according to the icon art). Navigating to Shop > Exchange > Dreamy Shop will give you a chance to exchange any Pilot Ta-Ta Discs you earn for the following items:
Item | Cost (in Sugar Maple) | Maximum available |
---|---|---|
Limited Deepspace Wish | 600 each | 10 |
Skyline Clouds (Caleb outfit) | 2,000 | 1 |
His Gravity (3-star Caleb Amber Lunar memory) | 800 each | 4 |

Intertwined Hearts (avatar) | 120 | 1 |
Summer Chimes (song) | 400 | 1 |
Intertwined Warmth (custom photo frame) | 400 | 1 |
His Gravity (Caleb emote) | 120 | 1 |

Ascension Crystal Box: General | 24 (40% discount compared to main store) | 120 |
Gold x10,000 | 120 (40% discount compared to main store) | 5 |
Gold x25 | 1 | unlimited |
If you find yourself with leftover Pilot Ta-Ta Discs at the end of the event, you can exchange each extra for 25 Gold, which is definitely worth doing. Otherwise, as with other LaDS limited currencies, you can probably expect them to automatically convert to a permanent currency once the event is through – so you won’t lose out completely if you forget to spend them all in time, though their buying power will pretty certainly be reduced.
Don’t forget to check your mail during the event, either, as you’ll receive 10 Limited Deepspace Wishes that can only be redeemed on the No Return Night banner during its run, just for logging in during Caleb’s birthday week. And if you don’t fancy pulling on this particular banner, remember that Limited Deepspace Wishes convert to regular Empyrian Wishes once the event they’re associated with expires, so it’s still worth claiming all of them.
