Let’s be honest: if you’re a big fan of the golden retriever boyfriend archetype, you made a beeline for Xavier the minute you started playing Love and Deepspace and never felt much need to pay attention to any of the lads who were introduced later than the tutorial.
This is an extremely legitimate choice, Xavier being hands-down the goodest boy in the galaxy. He also holds the distinction of being the LaDS love interest (so far, anyway) whose birthday falls latest in the year, so if you’re in the mood for a celebratory shindig with your 3D husbandos this is likely your last chance until 2026, barring an unlikely-seeming shadow drop of the elusive LI#6 in the next couple of months.
Xavier’s birthday event for 2025 is Trace the Stars, which will be running in-game from October 11th to 18th. That means you only have a little over a week to complete all of the event tasks and wish on those two birthday banners (one new and one rerun from 2024). So read on below for everything you need to know about Xavier’s 2025 birthday celebrations in Love and Deepspace!
How to complete the Trace the Stars event in LaDS
In order to take part in Xavier’s 2025 birthday event, you simply need to have unlocked him as a love interest. If you somehow haven’t done that yet, all you need to do is play through Chapter 1, Stage 4 of the main story – which takes very little time at all, since Xavier is the tutorial companion who you unlock almost as soon as you begin the game.
Assuming you can meet this very easy criteria in time, logging into the game during Xavier’s birthday week and opening the Events tab will take you directly to the Trace the Stars event landing page.
Here, you can see all of the various activities available for celebrating Xavier’s birthday. You don’t have to complete every part of the event – although some activities are pre-requisites for others – but more or less anything you do will grant you a generous helping of Starward Reels, the unique limited event currency which can only be spent in the time-limited Starry Shop for Xavier’s birthday event.
Like all romanceable companions in LaDS, Xavier’s 2025 birthday event follows a simple standard pattern, but with some individual theming to make the celebrations feel unique. Here’s an overview of every activity in the event:
Birthday Warm-Up Storyline: A four-part side-story, releasing one chapter per day on October 11th, October 13th, and October 15th-16th. This is a unique event storyline that won’t be repeated in future years, and sees the heroine trying to learn more about Xavier’s history before his arrival on Earth, as well as taking an interest in his newly-uncovered past hobby as an enthusiastic amateur astronomer after he became stranded in Linkon City.
Heart’s Whispers: This one-off activity allows you to write a personalised message of up to 60 characters in a birthday card for Xavier. (You can edit this as many times as you like up until his birthday on Friday.)
Inspiration Collection: A mini-game which tasks you with collecting falling objects (and, at higher levels, dodging undesired ones) to collect inspiration for the various components of Xavier’s birthday cake. Four levels unlock daily from the start of the event up until October 14th, and you can replay each level an unlimited number of times to ensure you get all the ingredients you need.
Blueprints: Spend the various Inspiration components collected in the mini-game to unlock Blueprints, each of which grants a new DIY idea for Xavier’s birthday cake, as well as a short story of the memory which leads the heroine to choose each design aspect.
DIY: Finally, put all of the components you’ve gathered from Blueprints together to design a birthday cake for Xavier, combining shapes, flavours, toppers, décor, and banners freely. You can save up to 20 daily drafts of different cake designs, and the cake won’t be finalised until you finish up with a candle and bake it.
Finally, beginning on Xavier’s actual birthday (October 17th), you’ll receive a video call from Xavier recounting his thoughts on his birthday celebrations with you.
Starry Shop event shop details
Almost any activity you undertake as part of the Trace the Stars event – as well as some generic in-game feats like reaching your daily Activity Points cap, and of course pulling his exclusive 5-Star birthday memories from the gacha – will earn you Xavier’s unique birthday currency, Starward Reel. Navigating to Shop > Exchange > Starry Shop will give you a chance to exchange any Starry Reels you earn for the following items:
| Item | Cost (in Verglas Beads) | Maximum available |
|---|---|---|
| Limited Deepspace Wish | 600 each | 10 |
| Starfall Wish (Xavier’s 2025 birthday outfit) | 2,000 | 1 |
| Starry Night Dance (Xavier’s 2024 birthday outfit) | 2,000 | 1 |
| Starry Stroll (3-star Xavier Lunar Sapphire Memory – 2025 birthday exclusive) | 800 each | 4 |
| Unfading Wish (3-star Xavier Lunar Ruby Memory – 2024 birthday exclusive) | 800 each | 4 |
| Fondly Beheld (title card – prefix) | 400 | 1 |
| Star (title card – suffix) | 400 | 1 |
| Starlit Sparkle (avatar) | 120 | 1 |
| Celestial Drift (song) | 400 | 1 |
| Floral Starlight (custom photo frame for With Him) | 400 | 1 |
| Starry Stroll (Xavier emote for photo studio) | 120 | 1 |
| Energy Capsule: Powerful | 600 (40% discount compared to main store) | 2 |
| Bottle of Wishes: SR | 60 (40% discount compared to main store) | 10 |
| Core Energy: SR | 60 (40% discount compared to main store) | 10 |
| Ascension Crystal Box: General | 24 (40% discount compared to main store) | 120 |
| Gold x10,000 | 120 (40% discount compared to main store) | 5 |
| Gold x25 | 1 | unlimited |
If you find yourself with leftover Starward Reels at the end of the event, you can exchange each extra for 25 Gold through the Starry Shop, which is definitely worth doing.
Otherwise, as with other LaDS limited currencies, you can expect them to automatically convert to a permanent currency once the event is through – so you won’t lose out completely if you forget to spend them all in time, though their buying power will likely be reduced.
Finally, don’t forget to check your mail during the event, either, as you’ll receive 10 Limited Deepspace Wishes that can only be redeemed on the new Between Stars banner. You can’t even use them for Xavier’s Celestial Message rerun, sadly, since reruns require either regular Deepspace Wishes or their own special banner currency that’s incompatible with Limited Deepspace Wishes.
However, if you don’t use them before the banner expires, they’ll be converted to regular Empyrian Wishes that can be used on the permanent X-Space Echo banner instead. In other words, whether you intend to wish on Xavier’s new birthday banner or not, it’s still worth claiming them – and you don’t need to worry about accidentally resetting pity if you’d rather just wait to spend them on the X-Space Echo permanent banner instead.
As we mentioned up top, Xavier is the last lad to have his birthday in 2025, but you can get an idea of what 2026’s celebration calendar will look like with our Love and Deepspace birthdays guide — which also gives you an idea of what to expect on your own big day if you’ve yet to complete your 2025 trip round the sun. And while the Love and Deepspace codes scene has been very quiet of late, it always pays to have this page bookmarked so you can redeem any new freebies as soon as they become available!
