How to expand your inventory to store more items in Crimson Desert

While there is no player-owned storage in Crimson Desert, thankfully, there are quite a few ways to expand your inventory.

If there’s one thing RPG fans hate more than anything else it’s being over-encumbered. Why would the developers stuff their gigantic open world with so many goodies if you weren’t supposed to stuff them enthusiastically into your waiting pockets?

Here are all of the things you can do in Crimson Desert to get some much-needed inventory expansion.

How to expand your inventory in Crimson Desert

There are three main methods of inventory expansion in Crimson Desert:

  • Completing story quests
  • Completing requests for NPCs throughout towns and cities
  • Purchasing bags from any merchant in the game

All three of these are technically the same, because what’s actually happening is that you’re invisibly getting bags as rewards for completing these requests and stories, but, unlike everything else in Crimson Desert, you don’t have to equip them manually or anything.

Small bags are cheap and plentiful, and should be the first item in just about every merchant’s shop. These expand your inventory by one space, which is a good deal for 50 copper.

Medium bags are what you most often get from requests, and they expand your inventory by 3 spaces. Requests are the small missions you pluck from the town bounty board when it’s marked with a purple icon. While these requests are often pretty boring fetch quests, they’re relatively easy to complete while exploring and are worth your time in the early game.

Finally, Large bags expand your inventory by 5 spaces, but I’ve only really seen them appear as rewards for major story quests and boss battles.

Rest assured, the inventory woes in Crimson Desert are a largely early game issue. So once you’ve got a few requests and story quests under your belt, you will start to have enough space for all of the food, junk and alchemy ingredients you want to hoard, as well as enough room to gather some loot to sell.
