If you want to get the Dreambreaker rod, you’ll need to craft Fisch’s Dreamer’s Amulet first – and that takes a fair bit of time and effort. It’s worth the hassle, though. The Dreambreaker rod is an excellent one with a chance of applying useful mutations and even increasing your catch’s size.
Below, we explain each step of how to get the Dreamer’s Amulet in Fisch, including requirements for each amulet piece.
How to get the Dreamer’s Amulet in Fisch
You’ll acquire amulet pieces by completing quests for characters in the Cultist Lair, one of which involves catching fish in specific parts of the lair, though the rest are more straightforward. There are five pieces in total, and once you get all of them, you can speak to the NPC with red horns in the lair’s second room to have them fuse all the fragments together into the Dreamer’s Amulet.
How to get Maelira’s Amulet Fragment
Maelira is (probably) the first NPC you’ll see in the lair. She wants you to catch several specific fish, and while you’ll need a lot of patience to get them, you don’t have to travel far to hunt them down. All of them are catchable in the Cultist’s Lair. If you want the best chance for catching them, you’ll need to wait for seasons to change, though with as long as it takes for that to happen in-game, you’d probably be better off just fishing until you catch them.
Anyway, we’ve listed each required fish and their preferred bait below:
- Abyssal Slickhead: Minnow
- Cave Loach: Worm
- Mexican Tetra: Insect
- Sinocyclocheilus: Insect
- Scaly Dragonfish: Minnow
How to get Eldran’s Amulet Fragment
Talk to Eldran, the character near some crates in the lair’s main area, and he’ll ask you to note the locations of three cultist marks around Terrapin Island. The marks are blue and circular, and you’ll find them around Terrapin Island at these coordinates:
- 153.8, 153, 1985.5 (near the Sea Traveler)
- 54.3, 162, 1860
- -142.3, 150.4, 1943.7 (by the Angler’s hut)
Once you’ve investigated all the marks, return to the Cultist’s Lair and speak with Eldran to get the fragment.
How to get Varn’s Amulet Fragment
This next amulet piece comes from a quest in the lair’s second chamber. Once you get inside, speak to Varn for another task – collecting letters that spell “Leviathan.” The coordinates are below.

How to get Kareth’s Amulet Fragment
This one’s a bit more straightforward. In the Hall of Whispers, Kareth asks you to cleanse some books. Walk back to the bookshelf you saw on the way into the hall, and hover the mouse over every book. The cursor turns into a hand when you’re over a book that needs cleansing, and you just repeat the process until they’re all taken care of.
How to get Sythra’s Amulet Fragment
Sythra waits in the lair’s final room, and your task this time is to light all the lanterns in the lair. That’s:
- Two in the first room
- Four in the second room
- Four in the third room
