In the frozen depths of the new Snow Biome in 99 Nights in the Forest, you can find sparkling treasure buried deep within the thick ice.
However, especially if you’re trying to claim the Gem of the Forest fragments hidden within the ice temple, you’ll need to be well-prepared before you can melt it safely and grab the useful equipment inside.
How to melt ice in 99 Nights in the Forest
To melt ice and claim the goodies inside for yourself in 99 Nights in the Forest, you need to hack away at the frozen block with your axe. The better your axe, the faster you’ll be able to chip away and melt the ice, but beware there’s an added danger when handling extreme cold.
Every time you take a swing at an ice block to try and melt it, your core temperature will drop. You can wear warm clothing to better resist the cold, but if you’re exploring a long way into the snow biome or there are enemies like Polar Bears around you need to be very careful that you have enough energy left to fully melt the ice in front of you.
When your character is too cold they can no longer sprint, which will leave you at the mercy of the ravenous and insatiable Polar Bears of the snow biome.
This is why you should try and seek out the purpose-built ice axe, which is a very rare drop from chests around the Forest. It’s the best at thawing chests and items from blocks of ice, but still takes a while to get the job done.
Melting ice is most similar to breaking down the door to the Anvil temple, which is technically possible with a normal axe, but takes a very long time and leaves you exposed to danger.
To get yourself in the best spot to explore the snow biome, it’s a great idea to equip one of the best classes in 99 Nights in the Forest. But if you need to unlock them first, here’s how to get your hands on some free diamonds.
