How To Play Hytale: Editions, Price, And Specs

After seven years of development, Hytale has officially launched in early access. While the game is just a barebones version of what it could eventually be, there are still dozens of hours of content currently available to players. This doesn’t even include all of the Hytale mods, which are officially supported by the game at launch.

The developers at Hypixel estimate that over a million players will hop into the early access version of Hytale. However, the game isn’t available on Steam or consoles, so how can you start playing?

How to download Hytale

Similar to Minecraft on PC, Hytale is available to play through its own dedicated game launcher. You can download the game launcher by going to Hytale’s website. It’s compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Hytale has finally been released into early access.

Once you download the game launcher and open it up on your computer, you’ll be prompted to sign into an existing account or create a new one. Creating a new account takes you back to Hytale’s website, where you can make an account using your email, Discord, or several other apps. After making your account, return to the launcher, sign in, and you’re done with the launcher for now.

How to buy Hytale

With the launcher all set up, you’ll have to actually purchase Hytale. It’s not a free-to-play game, as the development team at Hypixel is an indie studio that relies on game purchases to fund its endeavors.

To buy Hytale, return to the game’s website and select the blue “Pre-Purchase” button at the top-right of the screen. Here, you can select one of three editions for Hytale, all of which have different purchase prices and benefits:

Standard ($19.99)

  • Forest Guardian Set
  • Voyager Set
  • Savanna Scout Set
  • Exclusive Standard Cape
The Standard edition of Hytale

Supporter ($34.99)

  • Everything included in Standard
  • Featherbound Set
  • Scavenger Set
  • Arctic Scout Set
  • Explorer Goggles
  • Exclusive Supporter Capes

Cursebreaker ($69.99)

  • Everything included in Standard and Supporter
  • Hope of Gaia Set
  • Void Hero Set
  • Pop Star Set
  • Voidbearer Set
  • Exclusive Cursebreaker Capes

It’s up to you to decide which edition of Hytale makes the most sense for you. With the game being in early access, the developers have stressed that bugs, changes, and unfinished content will be present. However, over time, more content will be added, both officially and through mods, and game patches will come through regularly.
