Nightreign is FromSoftware’s first attempt at a live-service game, and we’ve got to hand it to the developer. It’s done a pretty good job of making this multiplayer experience of The Lands Between’s biggest and best bosses incredibly fun. While this live-service title doesn’t appear to feature any egregious microtransactions, you can hand over your hard-earned Murk for cosmetic outfits if you fancy.
Ultimately, Murk isn’t used for much aside from Relics and Chalices in Nightreign, so the rest of your Murk-savings can quite happily be spent on the array of outfits – some of which are Dark Souls inspired – in Nightreign. First, though, you’ll need to unlock them. Here’s how to unlock outfits in Nightreign.
In the latter half of this guide, there are end-game spoilers for Nightreign. We have labelled these accordingly so that – if you’re hoping to avoid spoilers – you know where to stop reading!
How to unlock Outfits in Nightreign
First things first, to dress up your Nightfarer’s in Nightreign, you’ll first need to unlock the clothes dresser. This will become available to you after beating any two Nightlords. Upon returning from your second successful Expedition, the Iron Menial will greet you and explain that he has transformed the east wing of the Hold.
Initially, you’ll only have a couple of outfits unlocked for each character which will all cost a set amount of Murk. To unlock even more outfits – which include Solaire’s outfit from Dark Souls as well as many other iconic fits – you’ll need to defeat Nightreign’s final boss.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Who is Nightreign’s final boss? Is it one of the Nightlords? Well, yes, and no. After defeating your first Nightlord, you’ll unlock the ability to target multiple other bosses. Once you manage to defeat four of them at least once, a final Nightlord appears for you to challenge; this is Nightreign’s final boss, and if you defeat them, you’ll find your clothes dresser full of even more outfits to purchase and kit your character out in.
