Grow a Garden‘s Fairy Event is the latest limited-time update aimed at injecting a little whimsy (not to mention FOMO) into the chilled-out Roblox farming sim that’s taken the world by storm this summer.
The Fairy Targeter is a gear piece that can be obtained as part of the event, and based on its name and appearance alone, it’s perhaps not entirely obvious what the Fairy Targeter is and how to use it, or whether it’s worth choosing over the other rewards. Read on for everything you need to know.
How to use the Fairy Targeter in Grow a Garden
Fairy Targeters are one of the rewards available from Grow a Garden’s ongoing Fairy Event. When you obtain a Wish, you’ll be given three random rewards to choose between; and given how powerful the Fairy Targeter is as an item, it’s strongly recommended to take it when you can. It’s actually got a higher drop rate at lower reward tiers too, which is good news, as having one will help you to attain the higher tiers more quickly.
Resembling a whimsical butterfly wand, the Fairy Targeter’s purpose is to attract fairies to the plants you would like them to target when applying the Glimmering mutation – hence the name. As you likely already know, for 10 minutes at the beginning of every hour, fairies will fly around your garden and apply their signature crop mutation to your plants.
In order to dramatically increase the likelihood of a plant being made Glimmering, you simply need to stand near to your chosen crop and equip the Fairy Targeter from your inventory, then click on an empty spot as close to the plant as possible. The Fairy Targeter will be placed in that spot on the ground, and fairies will be more likely to visit that spot the next time their signature weather event occurs.
