Love and Deepspace Abyssal Chaos: How to get all of Rafayel’s endings in Final Farewell

As one of the endgame modes in Love and Deepspace, Abyssal Chaos lets you investigate a roguelike dungeon-esque mode with high-levelled versions of your favourite companion characters.

Take on the Final Farewell commission with Rafayel as your partner and – assuming you don’t run out of attempts in combat, that is – you’ll find yourself on track to one of six unique endings that you can only see by taking this particular character on this commission.

Seeing every outcome in Abyssal Chaos comes with plenty of rewards, and while it’s not a waste of time to get the same ending on multiple runs, the most efficient way to play is to aim for a different ending with every playthrough until you’ve seen them all. Read on for details of every Abyssal Chaos Final Farewell Rafayel ending and the exact steps you need to follow to unlock them.

LaDS Abyssal Chaos Final Farewell: All Rafayel Endings

There are six total endings to the Final Farewell commission with Rafayel; however, two of them are minor variants on a couple of others, so you only need to play through the commission four times in total to unlock all the outcomes – assuming you pick all the correct answers, that is.

Below are the right choices to make for each of Rafayel’s endings in Final Farewell.

Ending 1: Devour

Answers by scene:

  • Final Farewell I: I’m getting a strong sense of déjà vu.
  • Final Farewell II: Catch Rafayel.
  • Final Farewell III: As your bodyguard…
  • Final Farewell IV: Continue the commission and come back later.
  • Final Farewell V: Force your way in.
  • What Endures: Leave for now.

Devour is the standard ending to Final Farewell that you tend to get if your decisions didn’t unlock any other special outcomes for the finale, mostly by avoiding being too curious and focussing on Rafayel instead of the commission when given the option. It’s thus likely to be the one you’ll see if you make choices at random on a first playthrough, but you should follow these steps if you want to ensure that you see it, rather than leaving it to chance.

Ending 2: Lost

Answers by scene:

  • Final Farewell I: What a magical feeling.
  • Final Farewell II: Chase after them with Rafayel.
  • Final Farewell III: As a hunter, I’ll eliminate Wanderers first.
  • Final Farewell IV: Consider it a break.
  • Final Farewell V: Avoid complications.
  • What Endures: Destroy the signal source.

Lost is a “secret” ending to Final Farewell that unlocks via a hidden combat node, reached by prioritising the heroine’s duties as a Deepspace Hunter over investigating the commission. It’s kind of a “bad” ending to Final Farewell, but there are no actual consequences, outside of a rather downbeat end to the story and no flavour text on the end card – you’ll actually even get an achievement for completing the hidden combat event.

Endings 3 & 4: Worth Living / Distant Longings

Answers by scene:

  • Final Farewell I: What a magical feeling.
  • Final Farewell II: Chase after them with Rafayel.
  • Final Farewell III: Prioritize the commission.
  • Final Farewell IV: Consider it a break.
  • Final Farewell V: Avoid complications.
  • What Endures: There’s more to this.
  • Hidden Choice: Have you ever asked them?

Following these steps exactly will unlock two endings simultaneously: Worth Living and Distant Longings, the latter being a variation on the former with an extra scene unlocked by a special mission item. At the end of the commission, the Distant Longings end card will display, but your endings tracker will correctly show that you’ve unlocked both.

If you want to unlock Worth Living separately at any point to see its end card, simply make the opposite choice during Final Farewell I (“I’m getting a strong sense of déjà vu” instead of “What a magical feeling”) so that you don’t pick up the special mission item, and otherwise follow the steps for Distant Longings.

Endings 5 & 6: Neverland / Faith

Answers by scene:

  • Final Farewell I: What a magical feeling.
  • Final Farewell II: Chase after them with Rafayel.
  • Final Farewell III: Prioritize the commission.
  • Final Farewell IV: Consider it a break.
  • Final Farewell V: Avoid complications.
  • What Endures: There’s more to this.
  • Hidden Choice: We could back up the data.

Following these steps exactly will unlock two endings simultaneously: Neverland and Faith, the latter being a variation on the former with an extra scene unlocked by a special mission item. At the end of the commission, the Faith end card will display, but your endings tracker will correctly show that you’ve unlocked both.

If you want to unlock Neverland separately at any point to see its end card, simply make the opposite choice during Final Farewell I (“I’m getting a strong sense of déjà vu” instead of “What a magical feeling”) so that you don’t pick up the special mission item, and otherwise follow the steps for Faith.
