Using Jeff in Marvel Rivals Zombies might seem counterproductive. After all, the little guy’s secondary fire nerf means he’s an unreliable damage dealer, and his primary fire splash beam is hardly suitable for tearing through the undead. There is one part of his kit that makes him nearly unstoppable, though: Hide and seek.
Below, we break down how to put together a solid Jeff build in Marvel Rivals Zombies, including how to use Jeff effectively in boss fights.
Marvel Rivals Zombies Jeff build
The fast and easy build strategy is to just pour all your moon tokens into Jeff’s blue powers. All of them are useful, but these are the most important:
- Forward Frenzy – Increases hide and seek impact damage
- Tidal Core – Raises skill energy cap
- Bubbling Impact – Colliding with healing bubbles causes splash damage
- Shark Soveriegnty – Jeff’s speed, damage, size, and enemy detection increase with every enemy he swallows during his ultimate
The idea behind this build is literally to just run into your enemies while hiding underwater. Sit in one place, move slightly back and forth, and you’ll wipe out enemies in no time. It’s one of the easiest ways to deal with tougher enemies (the riot soldiers with shields), and it makes Jeff fantastically useful in boss fights. He can still take damage while hiding, though. Namor’s creatures will target him, and the Dead Queen’s chaos energy rays will damage him as well.
Make sure to stack some generic purple buffs that increase Jeff’s health in between scooping up blue blessings.
Speed from the legendary Shark Soverignty power isn’t particularly important for Jeff in this mode, but the extra damage and size are very helpful. Forward Frenzy is the build’s core, and stacking Tidal Core lets Jeff stay in hide and seek mode almost constantly.
Bubbling Impact is important for boss fights, as it lets Jeff deal additional damage while in hide and seek mode. That’s essential on higher difficulty levels and even more important if your allies are, perhaps, not performing as well as they could. Spitting bubbles around where a boss is – for example, around the Dead Queen when she’s about to erase reality – lets you stack damage passively just by touching the bubbles while you’re swimming back and forth.
And that’s basically it. Make sure you spend your attribute points in the blue column, and during the Namor fight, while the water zombie is in the air, focus on getting rid of his creatures while other characters target him. Once he’s situated on the ground flopping his whale back and forth, you can use hide and seek to quickly wear down his health bars.
