Abilities and upgrades – It wouldn’t be a Metroid game without acquiring power-ups that allow you to explore new areas. From different weapon types and boosts for your Morph Ball to psychic-based actions, these abilities become integral not just for campaign progression, but also for general exploration and discovering all sorts of secrets.
Bosses – As Samus, you’ll face a plethora of enemies. A select few of these opponents are strange amalgamations of beasts and constructs, all eager to finish you off if you’re not careful.
Energy Tanks – Samus won’t get far if she’s unable to survive numerous enemy forces arrayed against her. Fortunately, the Energy Tanks you obtain improve her survivability, as they add extra charges once her health is depleted.
Missile Expansions – You’re going to blast your way through multiple encounters in every zone in the game. Naturally, you need a lot of missiles to bring down your foes.
Shot Expansions – As you advance through the campaign, you’ll acquire elemental weapons–i.e. fire, ice, and thunder. Ammo tends to be limited, which means you must find Shot Expansions lest you run out.
