Now Playing: Palia’s NEW Elderwood Update – 30 Minutes of Gameplay

Palia is a free-to-play cozy MMO that’s like a cross between Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. Players can fish, farm, and cook in this fantasy life sim. It was released in 2023 and the upcoming Elderwood expansion is its biggest update yet. The expansion is free-to-play as well.

Palia also takes advantage of the PS5 DualSense controller. The Light Bar changes color based on what skill is currently in use, like fishing, hunting, and mining. When using in-game skills, adaptive triggers will activate.

Elderwood brings a new adventure zone to explore, emphasizing verticality with new secrets to discover. There are new story quests and creatures to stumble across, as well as new hidden artifacts that unlock powerful relics and a new equipment system that’ll buff your party.

Palia is currently available on PC and Nintendo Switch, having reached over six million players so far. For more on Palia, be sure to check out GameSpot’s guide on how to solve the riddle during the Ancient Battery quest, as well as the full Palia recipes list.
