Guide to Relic Ruins
By Latios
Relic ruins unlocks after a server has been open a certain number of days. In this mode, your Primon will be reduced to level 60 and have greatly reduced stats. The stats are increased by relics you own as well as the features in the Relic Ruins. You are limited in the number of Primon and Artifacts you can take with on an adventure with that number increasing as you clear more floors.
You should prioritize artifacts that heal because the less damage you take, the less stamina you lose after a fight. There isn’t such a thing as the best team. What you do need to do is pick Primon that work with each other, artifacts that compliment them, and choose elf skills that will benefit your team the most. Unlike most game modes, you are able to use both the main Primon and a linked Primon on the same team. You should be working on relics as soon as you unlock them in Tribe Brawl at level 60.
Ruins Lord
Starting in phase 2, Ruins Lord will be available. The objective is to dish out as much damage as you can. You get an unlimited number of attempts each day so test various elf abilities and team compositions to get the best score.
There will be settlements to rank up occasionally and you must be a certain rank or higher to go to the next category. The better category you are in, the better your rewards will be for that settlement. It is helpful to watch the fight playout once or twice first because then you can see what is happening and adjust elf skills accordingly.
Explore Ruins
In this mode you will face enemies that get progressively stronger as you reach higher floors. Each stage has a cap for what floor you can reach. Clearing all floors in less days results in the maximum rewards. You begin with 480 stamina and lose stamina after challenging a floor depending on how much damage your team took and how many of your team members got defeated.
Every 20 floors you clear becomes a new checkpoint. If you ever run out of stamina in your challenge, you must return to the previous checkpoint and a new attempt is used. You have a limited number of attempts during each phase. Each time you defeat a floor that has enemies, you can pick a gem to give to your elf from 3 options. These can be leveled up as you go and you can only have 4 gem skills on an elf.
You can either swap out a skill or give up the option which will instead increase the level of the elf by 1. Every 20 floors, the elf’s skills reset. Starting from floor 201, you must clear a floor with 2 teams. This does mean you can lose stamina much faster than previous floors so don’t be afraid to retry a stage if you are losing a lot of health.
World Progress
An important thing to consider is there is a principle called world progress just like there is in dojo. What this means is that if you are ahead of world progress, fights will become more difficult and the enemies will have extra stats. Enemies slowly get increased stats the more floors you have cleared than the world progress. Waiting until the next day will either completely remove the enemy stat bonus or reduce the enemy stat bonus depending on how far ahead of world progress you are.
Unless you have a lot of relic power, I would not recommend going much further than 120% enemy stat boost. You should use your best judgment based on how difficult you are finding stages. Keep in mind you can exit a fight before it ends and it will not save the stamina loss. This is helpful if you have bad rng about not getting control effects to work or the opponent gets a lucky crit, etc.
It is helpful to use this also to gauge whether you can afford to continue on or if you should wait until the next day. Do not force yourself to clear a stage in 3 days. Unless you have invested heavily in relics, you will find it difficult to clear in 3 days, especially starting in phase 2. You could potentially lose tons of stamina or challenges from going for the 3 day clear.
Floor Mechanics
There are a couple floor mechanics that can happen. First, there is a constant effect that takes place which you can view. You could find a regular stage which is just like any other stage. You have the chance also for a Trade Stage. This allows you to exchange stamina for a bonus for the next 2 floors. It is a high cost, but if you are looking for 3 days clears, you might find them to be necessary.
There is also a Blessing Stage mechanic. Sometimes it gives you the choice of increasing the stats of one of the 4 classes and sometimes it affects what kind of floor you have to clear to move on. One of the options is to transform the floor to a Recovery Stage which will heal 72 stamina. Always take this option if available.
The 10th floor of any 20 floor set will be an elite guard enemy which may be easier or harder to clear than regular floors depending on your team. The 20th floor in a set will be a boss that also depends on how strong your team is if you will struggle. Bosses are usually back row so if you have something to hit back row, that is one option to take them out. The other option is to have a frontline that has shield support to tank hits.
Ruins Treasure Hunt
There are 2 summon banners for relics. One uses seeker scopes while the other uses treasure maps. Both of them will guarantee a purple relic every 10 pulls and an orange relic every 50 pulls.
The banners do share the same rewards for drawing enough times from the banners, but they have their own pity counters. Along with relics, you can also get relic shards and materials to power up the relics.
Relic Exhibition Hall
This is where you use relics you currently own to provide bonuses to your team. Some slots give extra stats while others increase AFK rewards.
If you clear all floors and are stuck waiting a number of days to be able to continue, you will want to optimize the relics for the most AFK rewards. Similarly, if you are still trying to clear floors, you want the best relics on the stat boosts.
Misc.
Ruins Statue
You get points based on how many relics you own and what star level they are. You can use these points to level up the statue which will increase your stats in the Ruins area.
Adventure Knowledge
As you progress you will earn materials to level up adventure knowledge. These provide stat boosts in the relic ruins area and a major component for power. First you level up general knowledge to a certain level then you must get all 4 other knowledge up to that level before you can continue to level up general knowledge.
Relic Decree
These are rewards for clearing a specific floor number. You start with Relic Decree Pass 1 and move to Relic Decree Pass 2 once you have cleared floor 200. There are free rewards as well as premium rewards for both passes.
Ruins Achievement
You can get some freebies based on various achievements. Some of them are specific to the ruins area while others are not. One thing to note is the rewards for clearing the various stages in x number of days. If you can do this early on, you can star-up red relics which are the rarest to get.
Seasonal Reward
This has some rewards for clearing various stages in the current phase. There is also a seasonal reward based on ranking which is determined on how many floors cleared and who cleared it the fastest.
