On the Japanese-themed map called Lotus Map, you can find a way to get a special character. The map has a black, white, and red color scheme.
To make sure you get this map, you can buy an item from the lizard vendor.
Once you are on the Lotus Map, look for red icons on your map called “Little Souls.” These icons show the location of “Small Souls,” which are red orbs. You need to collect three of these orbs.
After you have all three, go to the boss area. Near where you spawn, on the left side, there is a figure on the ground. Give the three souls to this figure.
If you do this correctly, you will earn an achievement and unlock a new character.
Giving souls to the figure also gives you purple upgrade souls for characters, which are used to buy cosmetics and upgrade skills.
If you have already unlocked the character from the figure, do not collect the red souls. Let another player gather them instead.
I once collected the souls myself after already unlocking the character, and no one else got the new character. When we tried again and I didn’t touch the souls, someone else on the team successfully unlocked the character.
