How to Obtain PP-8001 Weapon

A lot of guides about the PP-8001 have wrong or incomplete details. I’m putting the correct information here because it would have helped me, and maybe it will help others.

How to Get the Weapon

1. Finish the game to get the UFO ending.
2. After the ending, go to the first UFO poster and use it.

You must start New Game Plus with the save file that already has the UFO ending. You can see an icon for the ending on the save file. You cannot just load an older save.

How the Weapon Works

• The weapon is NOT unbreakable, even though some guides say it is. It will stay in your inventory when it breaks, but you cannot deal damage with it.

The weapon’s durability changes its attack range, damage, and moveset:

1. First playthrough (when you first get it): It is a short weapon with a fast attack style.
2. Second playthrough: It uses the baseball bat attack style until its durability drops below 50%. Then it switches to the fast attack style (like the first playthrough).
3. Third playthrough: It uses the sacred sword attack style until 67% durability. Then it uses the baseball bat attack style until 33% durability. After that, it switches to the fast attack style until it hits 0%.
