The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits follows the recent tradition of taking the franchise into the great outdoors – with the twist that, for the first time in a while, it’s child Sims who are getting the lion’s share of new activities geared towards them. Whether it’s creating an Imaginary Friend or going away to summer camp, kids are at the forefront here – but even if you’re someone who staunchly refuses to play any life stage other than Young Adult, there’s still plenty of new adventures to uncover.
Naturally, this means a handful of new skills, careers, and traits – and, just as naturally, that in turn means there are some cheats hidden under the hood to make acquiring all those new features even easier! Who wants to start with the basics when they finally get their hands on a new toy, after all? To help you get stuck in to the good stuff right away, below we’ve listed every cheat we’ve found so far in The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits.

How to use cheats in The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits
As ever, before attempting any cheats in The Sims 4, you want to enable testing cheats. While not every cheat in TS4 requires this in order to work, the vast majority do, so we always recommend this as a starting point.
To enable testing cheats, first press Ctrl + Shift + C if you’re playing on PC/Mac, or hold down all four shoulder buttons simultaneously on Xbox/PlayStation.
This will bring up the cheat console, where you need to type testingcheats true. Enter this cheat and you should receive a notification that cheats have been enabled. You can now use any cheats from further down the page by simply typing them in and hitting enter.
If you want to turn testing cheats off again once you’re done, bring up the console again and type testingcheats false. You should receive a notification that cheats have been disabled.
Using console cheats and debug cheats in TS4 is generally very safe – these are tools included in the game by the developers, after all – and usually the worst case scenario sees something simply not working. But there’s always a low risk of something going awry, so we recommend backing up your saves often just to be on the safe side.
The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits skill cheats
Adventure Awaits is the most skill-heavy add-on The Sims 4 has seen in a good while, with four brand-new skills mostly geared towards the “kids at summer camp” theme, although they can all be enjoyed by Sims across a variety of ages.
Acquire a new skill instantly using the following cheats, replacing [X] with the desired number within the value range to instantly raise the active Sim’s skill to that level:
| Skill | Cheat | Value Range of [X] |
|---|---|---|
| Archery | stats.set_skill_level skill_Archery [X] | 1-5 |
| Diving | stats.set_skill_level Diving [X] | 1-5 |
| Entomology | stats.set_skill_level Entomology [X] | 1-5 |
| Papercraft | stats.set_skill_level Major_Papercraft [X] | 1-10 |
Note that Archery, Diving, and Entomology are all classed as minor skills, with only five progress levels apiece. Papercraft is the only major skill added with the pack, with a full 10 levels of mastery available.
The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits career cheats
Adventure Awaits adds a new career path for adults, the Park Worker career: technically a first for the main franchise, although old-school Sims nerds like me will recognise it as being very similar to the Ranger profession from The Sims 2 Castaway spin-off for consoles (although there it functioned more as a character background than an in-game job).
Like most regular careers in The Sims 4, Park Workers can choose between two branching paths. In this case, upon promotion to Level 8, they’ll be prompted to decide between specialising as a Park Ranger or a Park Counsellor (sometimes alternatively called Camp Counsellor). Either way, you can rise through the ranks – or do the exact opposite – using the cheat(s) below:
- Careers.Promote ParkWorker
- Careers.Demote ParkWorker
Note: There are no unique cheats once you’ve chosen a branch, but demoting your Sim back to Level 8 and then getting them promoted again will re-trigger the choice pop-up and allow you to select either branch once more.
The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits trait cheats
As always, a new TS4 expansion pack adds quite a few new traits when you tot them all up, with some belonging to far more obscure categories than others. The list below is a work-in-progress, so we’ll keep adding more of those hidden and reward trait cheats as we find them!
| Trait Name | Description / Notes | Trait Type | Equip with… | Remove with… |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Competitive | Can eventually result in the Sim becoming either a graceful winner or a sore loser over time, depending on the emotions they experience around sports and gaming competitions. | Create-A-Sim – Lifestyle | traits.equip_trait trait_Competitive | traits.remove_trait trait_Competitive |
