There will be some kind of Tomb Raider announcement at The Game Awards on December 11. Host and organizer Geoff Keighley announced today, “Lara Croft returns at The Game Awards.”
“Tune in Thursday night for a look at the future of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises, Tomb Raider,” he said. “This is one you won’t want to miss.”
The confirmation of a Tomb Raider announcement at The Game Awards comes not long after a new report emerged that said a remake of 1996’s Tomb Raider was in the works and would be announced at the awards show.
Beyond this rumored game, Crystal Dynamics is working on the next Tomb Raider game with Amazon set to publish it. Amazon, meanwhile, is making a live-action Tomb Raider TV series for Prime Video starring Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner.
The Game Awards takes place on Thursday, December 11, beginning at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. In addition to the Tomb Raider news, there will be a new Total War game announcement, a new Resident Evil Requiem trailer, and details on Devil May Cry Season 2 from Netflix.
