Two classic N64 platformers join Nintendo Switch Online later this month

Two classic N64 platformers are making their way to Nintendo Switch Online this month for subscribers.

The first of these is Rayman 2: The Great Escape, from Ubisoft, which first released on the N64 in 1999, alongside PC, PlayStation and Dreamcast. It was the second game in the Rayman series, following the character’s sidescrolling debut from 1995, and was the first 3D Rayman game.

The second is Tonic Trouble, also from Ubisoft and conceptualised by Rayman creator Michel Ancel. It was also released in 1999 and sees players as purple alien Ed (great name) on a mission to stop drunkard Grögh from conquering the world. He can also turn into Super Ed by eating popcorn – I wish I could do the same.

Both games will be available from 17th December for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers with the Expansion Pack.

The platformers follow shooter Forsaken 64, which was added to the Mature app back in September, while in October the Japanese SNES exclusive Mario & Wario was added thanks to Switch 2’s mouse controls.
