Fisch’s New Years Countdown is here, a half-day fishing celebration to kick the old year out and welcome the new one in. There’s a countdown timer — who needs Times Square — special decorations, and the usual Fisch event fare, which means rare and event-exclusive fish and mutations. These will vanish after the event, so if you’re keen on checking it out, make sure to log in before things wind down.

When does Fisch’s New Years Countdown start and end?
Fisch’s New Year Countdown begins on Dec. 31, 2025, at 12 p.m. Eastern and runs for 12 hours and 26 minutes (which means it ends at 12:26 a.m. Eastern). Here’s what that looks like for everywhere else around the world.

- 5 p.m. – 5:26 a.m. (Jan. 1) GMT
- 6 p.m. – 6:26 a.m. (Jan. 1) CET

The event is a one-time thing, so you won’t see it come ’round again until December 2026.
What to expect from Fisch’s New Years Countdown
The event includes special decorations and fireworks displays at major fishing points, and, as mentioned, there’s a unique New Year countdown timer as well. While we haven’t caught any of them yet, you can also expect special, event-exclusive fish and mutations, similar to how the gingerbread and peppermint mutations showed up during the Christmas event.
