As you wrap up Monster Hunter Wilds’ main story, dozens of side missions quickly become available to you from all the various characters you’ll have encountered during your adventure. Dareel, situated at the Plains Base Camp, is one of such quest-givers, as he soon requests that you track down and catch a Tracktail Lizard for him.
Tracktail Lizard’s are part of Wilds’ Endemic Life, and they are incredibly cute, often caught standing on their hind legs as though they’re a purple, scaly meerkat. To help you complete Dareel’s Research Report, here’s where to find a Tracktail Lizard in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Where to find a Tracktail Lizard in Monster Hunter Wilds
After picking up the Dareel’s Research Report side mission from the Plains Base Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll be glad to know that you don’t need to venture too far to find a Tracktail Lizard, as the creature can also be found in the Plains biome.
More specifically, Tracktail Lizards can be found in the desert area of the biome, nearby the Oasis Pop-Up Camp in Area 13 of the map. It’s easy to identify by looking at the map, as you should see a small pond in the middle of the desert, with the camp right beside it.
After travelling to the Oasis, hop on your Seikret and begin searching the sandy dunes for small, purple lizards. Tracktail Lizards are often seen in groups of two or three, and will sometimes stand on their hind legs to survey the surroundings.
They’ll also burrow into the sand and flee if you get too close, so once you find one, use your Capture Net to catch it quickly. Then, return to Dareel with it to claim your rewards.
Following this, Samin — situated in the same tent as Dareel — will have a side mission for you which will task you with catching a Dapperwing.
