Finding aketine in Arknights Endfield might not seem essential at first, but you’ll need it to craft explosives on the fly eventually. There aren’t that many places you can find aketine to start with, though eventually, you can start producing the stuff at your base once you unlock a few research nodes in your AIC tree. That happens at the end of Paving the Way, the gigantic chapter where you learn the ins and outs of base building.
This guide explains where to find aketine in Arknights Endfield and how to produce more aketine at your base.
Arknights Endfield aketine locations
We’ve found two spots in the valley you explore before the first boss fight. One is just north of a spot where you can find amethyst, and the other is just across the chasm near the Valley Transfer part of the map.
Collect all the aketine you find, and then return after resources respawn to grab more. The foes you had to defeat the first time on your way through the valley will respawn alongside the aketine, so be prepared to take them down again as well.
You won’t need heaps of it at the start, and by the time you do need more, you’ll have progressed to the point where you can make it yourself at your AIC base.
How to make aketine at the AIC base
Once you unlock the second tier of AIC upgrade nodes (which happens automatically after you complete Paving the Way), you can spend a research point to unlock the Planting node in the Processing section, but only after spending another point to unlock Solid Filling first. The Planting node lets you build and use seeding and planting machines to produce seeds and plant them, and aketine is one of them. You’ll need to further process your aketine to get it in a form usable for explosives, though. The plant itself needs to go through a shredder to make powder (similar to how you processed ore through the shredder in an earlier tutorial) and then another unit to automatically turn the powder into explosives.
Which is a lot of work for an object you don’t really need that much of this early in the game. We recommend holding off on spending research points here until you’ve unlocked some other nodes in the tree, like the Power I node that lets you produce thermal banks for additional energy capacity. Hence why we recommend not rerolling in Endfield, since you’d have to go through all this again.
