In Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll no doubt be spending much of your time tracking down and slaying Large Monsters, but foraging your environment and taking on Small Monsters is just as important when it comes to crafting that new High Rank armor set or upgraded weapon you have wishlisted. It’s from these that you’ll be able to collect the Frozen Icebone material.
Frozen Icebone isn’t the easiest material to track down, but once you know exactly where to look, you should have no issue hopping on your Seikret and having them march you right over to the stuff. Without further ado, here’s where to find Frozen Icebone in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Where to find Frozen Icebone in Monster Hunter Wilds
There are two ways to line your pockets with Frozen Icebone in Monster Hunter Wilds, and that’s by slaying Small Monster, Comaqchi, or by foraging from Bonepiles in Iceshard Cliffs.
Fortunately, Comaqchi is also found in Iceshard Cliffs, so you can kill two birds with one stone here by scouring the area for both the small creature and Bonepiles. To make this easier, you can open up your map of Iceshard Cliffs and ‘Filter Icons’ in the lower left-hand corner and select the ‘Gathering’ category.
Now, you sadly can’t set up these filters so that only one icon shows on the map, but you can set a waypoint to the nearest set of Bonepiles, have your Seikret charge you over there, and repeat. You can also do the same for Comaqchi by setting the category to ‘Small Monsters’ when filtering your map icons and setting a waypoint to one of them.
Once you find a Bonepile, all you need to do is press ‘B’ by it, and you’ll be able to retrieve materials from it between one and three times, including Frozen Icebone.
As for Comaqchi, treat these as you would a large monster! Kill them and then carve their carcasses for a chance to acquire more Frozen Icebone, as well as other useful materials. Nothing is wasted in Monster Hunter Wilds!
