In the real world, Rose Gold is a mixture of regular yellow gold and copper, which gives the alloy its distinctive red/pink hue that’s come back into fashion relatively recently. However, in Prospecting, Rose Gold is a naturally occurring material that you can find in a variety of locations if you try hard enough.
While its high sale price is enough of a reason to try and track some down, Rose Gold is also required for quests in Prospecting, as well as crafting useful equipment. Here’s where you can get your hands on some. Or, if you’re after a few different materials, be sure to check out our full list of Prospecting Collection locations.
Where to find Rose Gold in Prospecting
Rose Gold is a Legendary rarity material available from the following locations:
- Rubble Creek Sands
- Rubble Creek Deposits
- Fortune River
- Windswept Beach
- Magma Furnace
- Infernal Heart
However, despite technically being available in the very first area of the game, Legendary materials are extremely difficult to dredge up. To actually find some Rose Gold with any certainty, you will need to boost your luck modifier as high as possible.
You can do this by saving up and purchasing one of the best Pans in Prospecting, or you can turn to limited-time items. These include Luck Totems from the Shard Vendor in Fortune River town, or Luck Potions from the Alchemist around the corner.
As for recommendations though, your best bet is to pan next to the pier in Fortune River. This high-traffic area is always brimming with players and you will often find that someone has already placed a Totem you can benefit from. There’s also the river rapids event which doubles item yield too. If you want to try your hand at getting some Rose Gold, panning in Fortune River is the best place to look without investing too much of your own Shards.
