Some materials and resources are much easier to get your hands on than others in Monster Hunter Wilds, and fortunately for you, Wingdrake Hides are one item that is easily acquired in abundance once you know where to look. These drop from the flying Small Monsters across the locales that Wilds has to offer.
To help you in your pursuit of High Rank armor and better weapons, here’s where to find Wingdrake Hide in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Where to find Wingdrake Hide in Monster Hunter Wilds
Wingdrake Hide drops from two of Monster Hunter Wilds’ flying Small Monsters: Harpios and Baunos respectively.
Baunos are found in Windward Plains, while Harpios are found in Scarlet Forest and Oilwell Basin. Remember that you can check your Field Guide to see exactly what each monster has a chance of dropping, though this information will only become available after hunting or capturing the creature at least once.
If you’re looking to farm Wingdrake Hide in abundance, I recommend looking for Harpios in Scarlet Forest, as it’s relatively easy to find a group of four or five of them at once compared to Baunos. To find them easily, open up your map and choose to ‘Filter Icons’ in the lower left-hand corner, and then select the ‘Small Monsters’ category.
All Small Monsters will appear as small, pink diamonds on the map, and you can hover over them to double check whether that particular pack of monsters is a group of Harpios or not. You sadly cannot filter icons on the map so that only Harpios show, but you can set up a waypoint to the nearest pack of them, hop on your Seikret, and charge right over there. Slay them and then carve their carcasses for Wingdrake Hide.
You can then rinse and repeat this to travel between groups of Small Monsters quickly! Once Harpios run dry, you can then begin hunting Baunos in Plains, or rest at a nearby Pop-Up Camp until more Harpios spawn again.
It’s also worth noting that Low Rank Harpios/Baunos will drop Wingdrake Hide, while High Rank Harpios/Baunos will drop Wingdrake Hide+. This is the only thing both creatures drop, so you’re always guaranteed to get either item!
