How to complete Gift of the Gab debates in Where Winds Meet
Gift of the Gab debates in Where Winds Meet are a bit like the indie card game, Slay the Spire. You need to use your limited amount of energy to play cards from your hand which either deal damage to your opponent or shield yourself from harm.
At the beginning of the match, you need to choose your rhetorical framework:
- Bluster beats Provocation
- Provocation beats Rebuttal
- Rebuttal beats Filibuster
- And Filibuster beats Bluster
Once you’ve decided on the best approach, you enter the match. In the bottom right-hand corner is the amount of energy you have available, which will regenerate in real-time.
As you draw cards, play ones that you have enough energy for, either to defend against your opponent’s barbs, or counter with your own.
Periodically throughout the Gift of the Gab game as your opponent’s resolve weakens, you will have a chance to either make a strong counter or powerful attack by pressing L2 or R2 when the prompt appears. Pressing here lets you deal a lot of damage while also afflicting them with a secondary effect.
Once you’re opponent’s health bar is reduced to 0, you’ve convinced them of your prowess and win the debate!
